Senators lost due to poor strategy.

They should have let the Leafs score earlier, giving us more time to blow the third period lead.

I liked Ryan comments about the T sports media, basically saying you guys are making stuff up...directly to them.

BR QUOTE---That’s just you guys. You must like to have a couple double espressos and get the hot stove goin’. I don’t know what time you guys go to bed. It’s gotta be late, because I wake up the next morning and hear something , ‘I don’t even think that’s close to true. I talked to that guy yesterday.’”

I dont think there is another sport where the media are such gossip mongers
as far a social media rumour mill, thats part of the fun for fans to keep interest.it does crosss a line when mainstream media are reporting on gossip. Is the NHL that boring to the media?

Only sport in Canada anyone cares about. Journalists/insiders are going to dig into every little thing. Social media doesn't help. Trying to be "first" doesn't help. Wish more guys were like Bob Mackenize. Just report actual facts and only begin rumours if there is actual meat to it.

That's what you get with 24 hour news channels / sports channels. Not enough news to fill the time slots so they speculate and try to predict the future.

I completely agree with your closing paragraph, Jared. I really feel Karlsson will never be 100% again following this last surgery. And I honestly think we should trade him now while he's still considered the 3rd best player in the league by many. I hope he gets moved this Summer, and someone other than the Sens pay him $12+M for the next 7-8 years. Because I promise he won't be worth that in as close as just 2-3 years.

1. Leaf fans probably bring in over 6 million in revenue for the Sens every season. Fifty percent of the time they leave the game disappointed. I can live with that.

2.If the Sens trade Karlsson, they should try for Klingberg and Miro Heiskanen in Dallas. It would break my heart, but it would be a solid return.

1. That's nothing to be proud about

2. Why would Dallas trade a young PPG number 1 D man on a steal of a contract for a guy who is going to get almost 3x the amount of a cap hit in two seasons. There isn't even a guarantee they could sign him.
Ain't gunna happen.

The fact that you idiots on here think Klingberg can get Karlsson show how much you know about hockey. The guy has 2 Norris trophies, is playing injured, on a team obviously under achieving.

Meh. Karlson> klingberg.

But klingberb's age and caphit make him extremely valuable. It's a non-starter for a player you guys ran into the ground

One year and a third and is about to get paid 12-13 million a year.

Klingberg is 25, a PPG player and is on a 4 million dollar contract.

Yeah, I'll take Klingberg and that contract any day of the week. That frees up 8 million to sign another player as well.

Very interesting convo btw Karlsson, Stamkos, Crosby.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9mDkVktFyM

Interesting comments by Karlsson on Stamkos contract.

My takeaways:
Bring in star power, Karlsson looks like he wants to be in Ottawa, but he needs star power with him up front. I would seriously look at Tavares or another star.

Karlsson has an amazing personality, but he is having an off year.

Melynk and hockey ops are the problem, not Karlsson

I don't disagree with you about Klinberg, but I take offense to the comments about running Karlsson into the ground. The Senators fan base has loved karlsson and treated him like a king .

Thinking he might have been referring to our heavy use and reliance on him, not about our general treatment of him. Not entirely wrong, but he's not the kind of player you want to hold in shackles.
