How about we give you Poolman, Mathias, our first and petan for reily |

I can't foresee anything major happening until Chevy knows where he stands with Trouba.
I do anticipate Jets picking up a depth forward like they did with Stempniak a few years back. |

I agree PT that although the Moose is "stacked" with great prospects, the big club might be reluctant to bring them up only to sit with a healthy big club. I think it does come back to the preference to adding a center, leaving the Moose alone for now with their roster (they want to win it all as well, right?) and possibly adding LD with some playoff experience. There is lots of available capital in prospects and picks.
But, I must say though, prospect wise, I am going to be really reluctant to let go of Roslovic, Appleton, Vesalainen, Niku, Connor, Poolman, Stanley, Samberg, Foley. I mean if any of these prospects are traded, it better be something frickin awesome coming back. Other teams will want these guys but seriously these guys are the future and you would have to frickin pry them out from me. |

I get that you like all our prospects but no way they all fit in our line up in the next few years. Foley, and Samberg haven't even signed yet, and a guy like Foley may look at our depth and think he's better off playing another year in college and going the UFA route where he sees an easier path to the NHL.

Foley is a LW. We have lots of young LW now (Ehlers, Connor, Lemieux, Vesalainen) in the system now....plus Perreault. He will be in tough.

Yep, you are right that I like our prospects. And I agree with the rest of your post but other teams will be itching for the cream of the crop. The good part is that Chevy doesn't give assets away but the flip side is that you have give up something good to get something good. Chevy will be trying to pawn off Petan, Dano, Mathias and other teams will be wanting the list I had posted so we will have to wait and see.

Hoping Chevy makes a splash. Confident he’s smart enough not to give up too much but going after a Brassard would be huge. |

Would like to see what a package of Logan Stanley
Eric Foley
2018 1st rd pick
Could land us?

I am all in on getting another impact center.
I am looking at you Andreas Athanasiou from Detroit. Detroit and him apparently did not get along during contract negotiations and he is rumored to want out of Detroit. I think he would bring a tonne to our team. He can check, he's incredibly fast and I think would look nice playing with Ehlers. |

Logan Couture or Claude Giroux easily. |

Ok - let's take a stab at this on Jan 17th:
15 teams won't make the playoffs - let's take the bottom 10 today and call them sellers ... of those 10, here are centres with at least this year and next year left on contracts ('cause next yr is still important), are 28yrs old or younger, have at least 4 yrs in the league, and that I think could potentially improve our roster (so I'm throwing out purely rental guys):
Ryan O'Reilly, Matt Duchene, Bo Horvat, Aleksander Barkov, Vincent Trochek, Leon Draisaitl, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and Sean Couturier
Now, this trade would need to really bolster - not just an incremental play so I'm gonna throw out Horvat, Duchene, and Trochek
That leaves me with O'Reilly, Barkov, Draisaitl, RNH, and Couturier ... eyeballs tell me I'm hunting RNH and Barkov ... not a lot of playoff experience there
I may be dreaming (usually am) but I'd take a run at Barkov - he could centre Laine and Ehlers, for f_cking sure ... and I'd give a RH starting Dman, 1st round 2018, and take a pick from Dano or Petan ... I'd do that in a heartbeat
I submit to the masses

Corydon Keith, you are speaking my language.
I say we trade: Trouba, 2018 first round pick, and Nik Petan for Barkov. I do that trade all day and twice on Sunday! |

That’s the thing with Ehlers, he needs someone that can keep up with him and play with him. I am not familiar with this Detroit player but Ehlers needs a complimentary centre and winger. I am not endorsing but agreeing that Ehlers can,t play with just anyone. I think in Halifax he played on a line with Drouin but Drouin is not a centre. I think the Habs tried him at centre but didn’t,t work out. When the Lightning brought Drouin back after he got pouty and went home, Drouin was awesome in the playoffs for Tampa.

Charlie if you get an opportunity to watch some Detroit games, this kid really stands out! He's fast, like Tanev fast, and can make plays happen. He's still super young. |

Trouba for Barkov straight up would be more like it. Worst case add Petan. Otherwise it's an overpayment. Look what Jersey got for Larson!!! |

Fla is a good partner, Barkov would be a huge addition.
Would put Little on a 3rd line where he’d be better anyways. People are hard on Little but he’s on pace for decent points and I really think the issue is chemistry and style of play.
Scheifele
Barkov
Little
Lowry

I’ve been talking AA from Detroit for awhile but that’s not a Trouba trade.
Detroit has some pieces but not a good option for a Blockbuster!

Jesus Christ. Trouba is more valuable than Barkov. |
