Yeah no kidding. So Jimmy goes from poopting on the Coyotes (justifiably) to exclusively writing for the Caps and now poopting on them for being a good team this year. I guess the hope is this tactic will one day force EK to just say " fine, blog for the leafs now Jimmy".

I’m more impressed that he has NO comments outside of these three.

Goalies are part of the team, a big part for some teams. I really dont understand how youd be surprised that theyre doing well?

As if the sample size of half a season isn't large enough to see that these Capitals are the real deal. May not be the prettiest hockey team to watch on ice, but they get the job done.

The discussions about Holtby being the ONLY reason they are where they are, in my opinion is incorrect. Holtby stands nowhere in the top 10 in any stats other than wins, nor have I seen him do anything out of the ordinary. His ordinary is elite, but by no means is he the only reason for any success.

I would have to say their experience is helping, this team has won alot of 1 goal games (no idea on the actual stats on this) but they do tend to pull through on most nights of close games. This includes games they been out of, but still find a way to grind down the opposition and find the back of the net enough to win the game.

Overall, Ugly hockey for the most part compared to what we saw last year, yet still effective. Caps look to be on track to lock in a playoff spot and compete.

Ya I find it odd that all of a sudden winning 1-goal games is somehow a knock on the team? No doubt they have gotten a bit lucky, but they also seem more disciplined and focused on actually winning, instead of looking good.

The Nucks (my other team) used to be terrible for going into the 3rd with a lead, and then somehow losing - usually in regulation. I recall other teams, say the Devils (at this time), who were notorious for close 1-goal wins, being hailed as a perennial contender.

I'm quite alright with less flash, and more punch, but even then, OV is almost at his goal total from last year (half-way through).

AND FINALLY, I distinctly remember numerous instances of inferior teams beating us in the play-offs, and many times this came down to 'relying' on a tender...I would say poopsburgh did this last year for sure. No one can claim our D-corp is more suspect than Ian Cole and company.

Montreal and Halak...

NYR and Hank.

If we win a cup and Holtbeast is the clear MVP, I won't give two poops...or one.

The blog contains numerous and repeated comments that basically just add up to rhetoric and could be copied and pasted from blog to blog. There is also desperation by the blogger to try and explain away how badly he missed the mark on how good of a team the Caps will be this year. There is one plus though, he didn't mention the coach scratching a player as a dumb decision so there is some progress.
