Cole also has some trade value. While it might not be as much as Sprong, it might be close to Rust or even Sheary depending on the team.
Can Cole plus get an upgrade to 3C or LW? I think GMJR is going to try. I'm not sure if we are going to see the big names that we want though |

Luca Sbisa is out for a bunch of weeks, maybe the Las Vegas Knights can use another defenseman!
Cole plus for Karlsson or Haula
OR
Cole straight up for Cody Eakin |

I’m rattled the pens didn’t get Duclair for the price he went for. Which was not much at all. Just read James Tanners latest blog for the capitals there and those are pretty much my exact thoughts. Definitely think the pens missed a great opportunity there to add a 22 year old LW scorer for VERY cheap. |

I think Arizona was looking at what Panik could bring as far as 22 goals and 44 points last year as well as needing a RW compared to LW. Also, Duclair basically indicated that he wanted out of Arizona. Is Panik worth more to Arizona than Cole? Arizona could always flip Panik to a contender for picks and/or prospects also. |

Kid has a lot of defensive liability and has not shown that he wants to put in the effort to play in the league. He has the physical skills but attitude sucks. It could be a steal but he could end up in the KHL soon as well. |

Cant find it now but when he put up 44 points in 80 games for the coyotes as a 20 year old they were raving about his attitude and work ethic in the dessert. Just like James Tanner went onto say the year after he broke out he came back to training camp and was placed on the 4th line.... Id be a bit pissed to if I was playing for an organization like that to. Sprong has had these EXACT same things said about him but look what we are doing with him.... giving him a chance. As well as most people on here have kept saying give him a chance. Seems to be working if you ask me... The kid put up 50 goals and 100 points in 59 games his last full year of junior as an 18 year old!
As for Panik.... Just look at his point totals since he was 16 and on to now 27 years old... He had 1 good season. I know Arizona is bad but I highly doubt they are that stupid to think hes gonna be legit and be part of there rebuild or worth anything at all.
Not to mention Rich Tocchet is the head coach in Arizona and liked Carl Hagelin. Im sure if Panik got Duclair, Hagelin alone could have got Duclair. Furthermore Arizona should be wanting picks not 27 year old 1 year wonders in Panik. |

I don’t think the Pens are doing anything major. I think they’re gonna stand pat.
The only move I see them making is Cole at the deadline. |

Off topic.
Simon Despres and Maxim Talbot were left off the Canadian Olympic Team.
Max Lapierre and other former Penguins made the list. |

Despres is still playing? I thought his career was over because of conkys? |

Yeah he was really looking forward to making the team and prove that he can still play in the NHL. (Currently plays for the KHL) |

Honestly don't know how the Coyotes managed to lose that trade so badly. I thought you were supposed to get a young prospect for taking on a bad contract, not the other way around...
Feels like a missed opportunity for the Pens though I'm sure if Duclair has some real problems Tocchet would have tipped them off. It is quite clear that JR and Sully decided that Hagelin was more valuable to hold onto than Duclair. He is definitely a much better player than Panik. |

Think Rutherford will still try and add a center, but yeah, I don't see them doing much. |

Yes, if somehow a situation arises where a hockey move for a 3C or even a top 6 winger pops up I could see that happening. I’m sure he’s looking every day, but my guess is not much will happen. |

Panik is the equivalent of Sheary
Would anyone here have traded Sheary for Duclair? |

Well are they using Professional Curlers or Amateur? If they’re using Pros, I’m not watching. |

I dunno I don't really care, some of the chicks are hot and it's nice to see them in their natural habitat, sweeping with brooms. |

Nope. Don't think I would have. Lateral move for no reason. |

Im kool with letting the kids play. Especially after the disaster trade for reaves.
I didnt know sprong was gonna be a ufa already......wtf
I wouldn't mind getting shawn matthias to add depth on center looks like the jets will let him go cheap at least until schieffle got hurt |

Sprong is going to be an RFA, not UFA, he was lumping Hagelin and Sprong in with the UFAs as expendable/tradeable assets. So like... the UFAs... Hagelin.... and Sprong. Not calling Hags and Sprong UFAs. |
