Brodeur needs to fix Allen then trade him.
I don't get how he struggles this time of year.

Honestly, I don't think it is so much of an Allen problem.
He is who he is, a pretty average NHL starter. He at times is outstanding, but also has stretches of not great. He isn't a top of the line goalie that will carry a team when they aren't playing great. And the team is not playing even good right now, so I have a hard time putting too much blame on him.
He is a part of the problem, as he can't stop the bleeding. But he isn't causing the bleeding IMO.
Last night for example, the team got off to a pretty good start. They scored early, and were able to put in a second in the 1st period. And then the wheels fell off. The team looked bad. Passes were bad and in skates. Turnover after turnover. They deserved to lose that game with the way they played in front of Jake.
Since December, only a few players are playing to where I would expect them to be. The majority are playing below their level. That, on top of missing one of our key forwards, is going to lead to a lot of losses.
Jake Allen has the 19th highest cap hit for goaltenders. So at the very bottom of the middle group of starting goalies. That is who he is IMO. An average goalie. Who isn't going to be great when the team isn't great.
