This article should just read: "It is bad!"

edit: But really this is a good read. Nice to have a sane blogger on here!

Not sure if bringing in a rookie coach was the best idea but he's here and I'm of the mind that we need to keep him for a couple more years at least. Having a revolving door of coaches is never a good idea and this is, what, the 5th coach since Pegula took over? Crazy.

Nice write up, btw.

Mike - reading your work has been the highlight of this dreadful season. I can't remember a worse season in the past 20 years of Sabres hockey. Thanks for sticking with it and giving us topics to banter about through this disaster. I hope we see at least 5-6 guys get moved between now and September. This season can't end fast enough - I am barely watching the games now other than a few minutes here and there. Been reduced to checking box scores in the morning most days. It's going to take a long time to dig out of Murray's mess, but I trust Botterill's plan for the team.

I have said for all those tankers out there that a problem with tanking is it ruins more franchises then it helps. Everyone points to Pittsburgh and Chicago and there is a bunch of people who seem to think tanking is the only way to build a long term organization. Look at the bottom of the standings for the past 10 years . You see the same 4-5 teams every year with a few that dip down and go back up. If you were look at the 5 most losing teams in the past 5-6 years I bet none of them are looking great right now. a few might look like they might be ok but no Stanley cup winners there.

If I am a owner of a NHL team and the GM and Coach brings me a plan that involves tanking the conversation would go like this . How does the tanking work. Well 1st you dump all you talent and lose most of your games and then if you are lucky you will get the 1st pick overall and then you will have your franchise player for years. Ok wait what do you mean get lucky. Well the draft is a weighted lottery so even if your the worst team you might not get the 1st pick. So what you are telling me is you plan relies on luck. GET OUT OF MY OFFICE YOUR FIRED !!!!

In the immortal words of Bob and Doug Mackenzie in strange brew when they were going to be drown in beer.

This isn't heaven this sucks !!!

He's fast and probably a buy low player. I'd give it a shot

If we're going to move assets, let waste one on moving Okposo's contract. At this point, what this team really needs is addition by subtraction.

Homie has mentioned several times that Edmonton has been poking around on Kane with RNH as a potential player coming back. Last night an Edmonton source I have said that a potential trade was close, but Edmonton and Kane would have to agree to terms on a long-term deal. Like Homie mentioned, Kane is looking for 7.5-8M a year on a long-term deal.
