This is where the team trades vets at the deadline and accumulates picks. These arnt just depth players, these 6 of the Canucks best players with broken bones etc.

Why bother trying to trade for a "Hoffman?" This team can't afford to trade any prospects. I guess they could trade Gudbranson. But what is he even worth when he is a pending UFA and expected to end up back in FLA. Hutton perhaps, but he doesn't get you a scoring F.

Agree with you. Got some really nice pieces in the pipeline. Let them develop and get as many picks as possible. Its garth wanting to trade EKane for a treasure trove of assets that the sabres wont get. He's still upset that teams that started later on the rebuild are in better position than the sabres.

The Canucks have drafted well in the past 3-4 years and a starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. They, like many rebuilding teams know they are not ready to win the Stanley Cup. Quite frankly, these injuries to key personnel, just may be a blessing in the end. Finish 20-25th overall, get crack at another young star in the 2018 draft.

Trading away their top young D prospect, a first rounder (potential lottery pick) and a roster player, for 3-4 months of Evander Kane is just bad business. The Canucks or any other team know you win in this league by drafting and developing your own players. Such a deal is pure fantasy from Garth
The Sabres haven't drafted and developed well over the years. Hence, yet another rebuilding job.

Sadly, Kane will be dealt. Less than three years after he was acquired in the first place. He'll go to a contender, so it will be a late first round pick and a middling prospect. A trove perhaps, but far from a treasure trove

Garth please tell us that you are not going to be subjecting us to the trading of buffalo players everytime some gets hurt. The return for Kane will be minimal nobody who is in rebuilding mode will give up anything for Kane. As someone stated earlier only someone with a legtimate shot at a Stanley Cup will give u something.

I went over this with a few of the guys. Someone explained it as driving past a car crash that you can't look away from. You know it's going to be horrible, but you still have to look. In my case, I think I just love to be angry. Everytime I read I want to scream.... sadomasochistic?
