They're still taking too many shots from the outside. If you can't get an early goal on them, it'll get the goalie into a "groove" and then even if you're getting top notch chances, he'll be running high and probably stop more. I've seen maybe 2 or 3 solid chances within the mid-close range; the rest have been from longer range hoping for/expecting a tip.

We haven't got a chance of winning anyway, as we're playing against their backup. If we can get more shots, more hits, more penalty minutes, or even more Gatorade than the Wild this game, I'll be happy.

Well, the problem is that this style of just getting every puck on net really only works if you have a few good, long distance shooters whose shots are good enough to score from mid-long range and/or your PP is dominant enough at getting in close that you use it to break down opposition confidence.

Neither of those is true of this team as even their PP is having a tough time getting chances from the inside (kinda sad, really).

Letestu still being on the top PP unit is confounding. His idea of a solid chance seems to be a wrister from the left half-wall into the skates of two opposition players. I don't love the idea of boosting his second contract, but give Jesse the chance there and just see what an actually good shot can do.
