Why move an obviously awesome goalie everyone has been thinking is too inconsistent to be an NHL starter???? For a treasure trove of young assets including a five tool, puck distributing D man, a young power forward and several premium picks

Bernard there is not a goalie in the NHL that is consistent. Sergei and Carey have had their troubles at times this year and are on a different level then Lehner. Lehner is a decent goalie who has had a disaster of a defense in front of him since he was in Buffalo.

He certainly is not a top-tier goalie but on a team with a competent defense, I'm sure he would put up numbers at par or better than he has in the last couple weeks since Badgosian has returned.

I would think based on age, contract, and average numbers he would net us a decent prospect and a pick. I would be surprised if we could get a first or top prospect out of Lehner, but who knows. Edmonton shows interest and we might get two firsts.

Why haven't the Sabres offered up Kane for McDavid straight up? I know it's not a treasure trove of assets, but if you think about it, Chiarelli is the obvious trading partner. This is the type of deal Chiarelli loves to chase!
