Yeah, not sure what is going on, but I am sure that the Flames are not rushing him considering how well the 3rd line is playing without him. I like what I have seen from Hathaway.

Looks like his age may be catching up to him. Like you said though, I don't mind Hathaway on that line, I actually prefer it. He has good chem with Janko and Bennett is really clicking with them.

What I would like to know is what the fck r we going to do for our PP? something's gotta give

You'd think it was the off-season or something.... this thread is startlingly quiet!

Prediction for this evening's game:

3 - 2 Flames.

Losing way too many battles for the puck. Especially Hamilton and Brodie.

At least GG tried something with the different lines in the 3rd.

I think SJ had more scoring chances on the Flames PP than the Flames did. Fcking Brouwer isn't working on the PP for fck sakes. Are they going to give him the entire season to see if he can score one goal ? Put Hathaway in front of the net..try something FFS.

I would say right now this team lacks emotion. No one is taking the team and putting it on their back.

When was the last time this team saw any push back? When was the last fight, Brouwer like 6-7 games ago? Any scrums lately? Any major hit that caused the other team to react? Besides Bennet scoring the Game winning goal against Van I can't remember any emotion.

We can female dog all we want about the power play, but I think things go a little deeper right now.

They have come out and played well for the last couple games, but not great. They seem disinterested if you ask me.

But I thought this team had too much nervous emotion during big games, according to the coach?
How do these players not get up for games & play with intensity? Although, our backend is cream puff soft & we are running 3 skilled lines & the fourth line is supposedly that veteran energy heavy line that costs us like 9.0 mill in cap.
We need snarl on the backend. I stand by my opinion Tre should be talking to Winnipeg to see if a Brodie for Trouba type of swap can be hammered out. Brodie would probably do well in the Peg as they still have some pretty beefy D in Myers & big Buff. JMO

I know people are opposed to the idea of sending assets in a Kane trade, but here’s why I believe it’s not as bad as most would think.

Let’s be hypothetical and assume it will cost us Brodie and a 2nd.

First and foremost this team needs a shakeup in a serious way. They’re way better than there record would indicate.
2nd This team is in desperate need of help on the powerplay.
3rd When is the last time we have watched anyone on this team drop the gloves? Soft! We need more grit!
4th If all else fails there is a few guys on this team that could regain your picks at the trade deadline. Kane next year on an expiring contract would still likely get you a first or second. If there is fear we can’t resign Backlund I would assume he is also worth a first at the deadline. Point is if the experiment fails the flames have more than enough equity to make trades to recuperate what was lost.

I for one don’t want the pick, given up for Hammer to be a lottery pick. So got get Kane if the price is right. By all accounts we were the runner up for Kyle Turris and look at him go! I trust BT, if this is the move he’s inclined to make.

On the topic of Grit it seems that Tkachuk has calmed down a bit. 2 suspensions for stupidity should do that.

It would seem trying to be a puck position team stifles the physicality of guys like Hath and Ferland. We have 2 guys in the top 6 that can throw the body (3rd seems to not be an issue). And really no one on the 4th that will make the defense look over their shoulder.

I say wait till free agency to get Kane if that is the way they want to go.
