breaking down ..lack of play up front has caused the D to wobble more
under constant attack from teams cloggin middle ice & forcing play back in our end
Our teams top 12 depth is stretched with 2 rooks & a DD
J T playing center isnt good long term either
Nash is on the check line with Hayes whos forgot how to shoot ?
never saw a breakaway pull off & look to pass?O M G what was that
over commit to pass is wrong ? shots make great passes when they hit net and
cause rebounds and deflects and such..... grit goals ,not all cant be gorgeous pass plays...
anyway usual rant for upgrade in middle ..WHAT IF Zbad or next was or is longer term... how many rooks can you run out there & still say your not re building somewhat ....
J P Pageau .Otts lookin too shake it up?
Sutter on Van ? perfect for grit & sandpaper
Shaw if Mont eats sum $ ... ditto on his game like sutters
I D K are we gonna wait to and lose leverage & bargaining power for what ?
MUST FILL THE CENTER SLOT ASAP OR RISK THE WHOLE SEASON....
if the O fails to control the ice & puck ,D is doomed ..... |

Thanks Jan. The early goals against are killing the Rangers. 3rd shot in the 1st, 8 seconds into the 3rd? I hold my breath during the last minute and a half of each period expecting a lazy goal against. Ridiculous.
Caught the Wings/ Bruins game after the loss. Boston did not quit and came back to win. Pretty rare to see that from this squad. If AV and McD can't light a fire under their collective asses, who will? |

probably worst performance of season even considering first awful month, can't lose to that team and have no passion against the team that eliminated you last spring.
Embarrassing, no other word for it |

K Shatt should get an assist on Ottawa's first goal. It was a beauty pass, tape to tape, to Stone (I think) then to Ryan for the ice breaker... |

How many teams have 2 -3 mill in cap $ ,
have a huge slot unfilled by summers move & team philosophy's ...
And dont fill it by Xmas? dont they deserve what they get...
selling the crap outta 18 yr s old makin it in NHL ?
getting DD and other scrap heap type fills to wish a player in...
I guess you get spoiled & expect Grabner to fall into your laps every yr.
dont stop there , playing JT at center when he could go off on wing
Nash not getting the center he deserves to score more &
not just use him on a checking line
I wanna NOT watch ,I wanna STAY AWAY ,like a train wreck i gotta invest or fall on my sword once again....
watching on D V R only makes it easier to watch , my heart & mind aint in it cause i know the NYR team aint in it ... is it makin $$ or we can hold back cause ?
itll work out next yr with ... 19yr olds.... how ocomforting..
Same as mets ? cnt vest myself in ateam who treats its position in the city
and its fan base as a bargain basement center not a major market operator?
we got Nimmo , wouldnt have looked at Stanton?
CHEAP & THRIFTY DONT PLAY WELL WHEN YOU PAY FOR THE PLEASURE OF LIVING HERE EVERY DAMN DAY ..COST OF LIVING IS SOOO HIGH.....
GIMME A BREAK ..GETTA A CENTER IN THE LOCKER ROOM WHO CAN PLAY ,ENUF ROOKS ,RETREADS, LAST CHANCE MOVES ...
FILL THE SLOT ASAP |

I honestly think (and I know the Pack havent been lighting the world on fire) calling up a Neal Pionk would give this team a little shot in the arm. I know he isnt on the same level but do you remember those short stints when they called up Skjei? seemed to juice things up |

yeah, I agree, I think the blueline is the problem, way too much obsession with the forwards and another center. Z-bad is coming back, that's the center we are getting
this blueline is awful, it is some bad mix and any new blood is a good idea to me |

yup, once Zib is back and hopefully Chytil tears up the WJC and we see him in a month or so. thats a totally different look center wise. Blueline was treading water this year but is really looking bad now |

I definitely cringe when I see Desharnais on the powerplay, I can't wait for Z to get back |

Think its the major problem but you wouldn't want to see say Zib/Chytil, or Zib and another center and have Hayes as the shutdown line. DD doesn't do it for me. |

Miller shouldn't be a center either. Like him better on the wing. Why I think we need Zib plus another one |

Good write up, Jan.
I agree that it's too easy to blame the coaching staff for not adjusting. I can't tell you how many times I've heard John Giannone's coach's report between periods where he says "Scott Arniel says the players need to do X." The period starts and the players don't do X. And often times X is something simple like dump and chase or get pucks and bodies to the net. I think it's definitely an execution problem and not an adjustment problem. |

But what do we give up to acquire another center? Usually a team deals from a strength to fix a weakness. Maybe deal off a D-man and hope a Pionk or ADA looks better back there? |

I agree. I don't think AV tells his players when they have a breakaway to turn away from the net, do a spin move, and then give the puck away. What the (frank) was Hayes doing? Jesus Christ, I've never seen anything like it in my life. |

Was listening to the radio and he was interviewed after the first period. He said he thought the Karlson was gonna catch him and that he would be able to find a teammate trailing the play.
