I think Hynes is a good coach, but I sometimes am really baffled by personnel decisions. Think about Severson last year and start of this, Hayes and Stafford playing time this year, while Zacha gets no development time. The line decisions also baffle. And Zajac looks like a candidate to be sat - perhaps he came back way too early...

I don't think he's a very good coach. I know the players like him, but they spend so many long shifts in the defensive zone, and it seems like when they get the puck if they don't score off of the rush they quickly concede the offensive zone. If that's intentional it's just a really bad strategy, if it's not intentional, Hynes isn't doing much to change anything.

Under Deboer, it felt like the team kept games closer than they should have based on the talent level of the roster. Under Hynes it doesn't feel like that's been the case.

Would be nice if the devils could have a fully healthy top 6 for a game or two haven’t played one game all season without one of Zajac, Mojo or Palms hurt I know Zajac hasn’t done much but missing Palms and Mojo have really hurt our depth and forced players to play above their heads at times

Hynes is just a young coach. He has good nights and bad nights, which is reasonable. I don't think the expectation for the team was to be moving this far forward this quickly, and regression is definitely going to happen, but Hynes needs time to develop as well.

Really wish I could be a fly on the wall when Shero and Hynes talk about their plans with Zacha. I'd really like to have a better understanding of what their opinions are closed doors. I really wonder if they even consider the AHL an option for him, because at this point it seems like it should be (and I honestly like the kid and think he has the tools to excel).

He made a nice play the other night to give Woody that goal, but just seems like he needs some time consistently getting big minutes and spark his development again in the A. It has to suck to get sent down and it'll certainly hurt in the moment, but it definitely seems like he needs to be playing as much hockey as he can right now, not going in and out of the lineup and really not gaining any momentum in terms of becoming a better player.

I don't want Hayes in the lineup anymore than the next guy, but I'll take the rest of the year with Hayes if it means Zacha becomes a better player long term (not that a stint in the A means he'll develop any better, just an idea at least).

I think marjo is trash way too many turnovers. I thought wsh was crazy when they traded him but I now see what they saw. that and hes having some rough injury luck. zajac will improve but he is done in reality. he's a 3rd or 4th liner that can win draws. he can't turn it up every night. wood I like he is fearless but he also had no fear of taking a stupid penalty. and personally I think Hynes is doing good. shEros deals on the other hand have backfired like Mueller marjo Stafford Hayes pfff maybe even vatanen. look what Hynes has done with Bratt nico gibbons coleman and santini. I didn't think any of them would be where they are now back in September.

it would be cool to have Jo and Palmieri healthy sometime, especially since Zajac now looks infinitely worse than Henrique did, which isn't what I was expecting. rough deal with Zajac right now.

Case in point, look at these lines, the second is an abomination as a second line, good fourth though
