Adam Henrique is definitely deserving of a piece like this. He's been a lot of fun to watch! Another thing too, I think the acquisition of Henrique is going to be advantageous for Corey Perry's game long term. Just watching Perry out there with Henrique, you can tell there's a bit more jump in his step. And why shouldn't there be? He knows Henrique is strong on the puck, a great passer, and, most importantly, very good at manipulating time and space. All of those skills are huge factors at getting things done in this league, and Perry knows it!

I know Perry isn’t the fleetest of foot... but the fact that he never gets a second of 3 on 3 is baffling... a heavy shot like his and how good he is on the doorstep... you would think he would get some ice time. Especially with Getzlaf and Kesler both on the sidelines. Oh well... keep winning!

What loss? We got a great player in return that will help us as Rico will help you. It's called a trade This is a moronic statement. Conversely do we say Anaheim had a huge loss with Sami? Both teams got pretty much equal value so this article being written was a waste of everyone's time

Pears just cannot play the 3x3 - Ducks at this point cannot control the puck long or well enough for him to see the ice - they would get countered to death - plus he's not the greatest stick handler either - and his foot speed... we don't need to get into that -

I've said it since the trade - Rico is the kind of player that every team needs for deep runs - gritty - smart with talent to make others better and what impresses me most in these few games is he plays a heavy - feisty game with out Taking penalties -- which for a Duck player is simply amazing.. his passing is so so good - and he can finish - thank goodness it was him on the end of RR pass for that onetimer - 80% of current Ducks roster would have bumbled that pass away - he smoked it.
And Blandisi is also a player that is going to help the Ducks in the long run - how this guy fell to the 6th round is amazing -

Murray hit a home run with this trade...

Nice piece. I will caution you about one small thing though:

After the trade was made, I mentioned you’ll be getting a pissed-off Henrique, which is what you want. And that’s exactly what you’ve seen so far.

But therein lies the rub within Henrique. He doesn’t stay that way (or I should say, historically hasn’t.) I’m not in anyway bashing the guy. I still love him - I’m just forewarning you about what we have historically seen with him.

The trade may be enough to keep him motivated for the rest of the season. Who knows, maybe it pushes him to the next level for the rest of his career.

I would just excercise caution this early that this is what you’ll get on a nightly basis, cause that’s exactly what led to this trade in the first place. I’m really happy for him though. He’s a great guy and I’m sure he’ll be a fan favorite for you guys.

IMO this gives us the 2nd line center that can score that we have been missing since we had McDonald and Getzlaf back in '07. To me we have been missing that 2nd line center that can score that gives us more balance that we haven't had for a while. Personally I don't think Kesler has been that guy, he can score but hes more of a checker. Now we have the depth we need and can roll out 3 lines (when everyone is healthy) that can score. This team I see is very similar to the 07 team. Top line then kunitz/mcdonald/selanne now ritchie (kase)?/getzlaf/eaves then penner/getzlaf/perry now rakell/henrique/perry then moen/pahlson/neidermayer now cogs/kes/silf. This is a dangerous team when healthy. We even can throw out a 4th line that can play more than 3 minutes a game like Randy has been doing lately with wags/vermette/ritchie(kase)

Hell 90% of Ducks roster goes ghost for games at a time see. Perry Corey... although I really hope you are correct and this motivates Rico to continue playing this way ... because he has been simply awesome so far...

Did Blandisi get hurt, btw? I’m really interested to see what happens with him.

I, and many others, would have had him on our NHL roster if it were up to us. The kid has worked hard over the years and he had a great training camp to the point most people thought he was a lock to make the team. We definitely have depth now, but I don’t know. Something seems fishy there to me. Maybe it was just a personality conflict between Shero/Hynes and him, I have no idea. That’s total speculation on my part.

But, even the Devils beat reporters all thought Blandisi was making the team before final cuts. So, I definitely think there’s potential for you guys to have gotten a steal on that part. Will be interesting to see!

I doubt he'll be back this year. Also think we could see Henrique playing some LW.

Much love to Rico. Couldn't be happier for him to be making big contributions for the Ducks already. Hopefully he can keep it up. Never met him personally, but from all the community work and just overall great attitude with the fans (even during the last couple terrible Devils seasons), he's proven to be a high quality person and hockey player. All the best!

I think it's fair to point out that I'm a lifelong NJD fan. I have pretty good insight into Henrique as a human being and a hockey player.

Glad Murray pulled the trigger on this one. No complaints from me for the rest of the season!

Those locker room hijinks need to be cut down if you guys want to stay healthy. Just look at Kesler and his sore anus surgery...I mean hip surgery he had to have. It's getting out of control.

Tough loss. Overtime hasn't been good to this team.

Hopefully they'll be ready for the Hurricanes.
