Are the Flyers considering loaning Patrick to play in the World Juniors for Canada at all? Really hope they are thinking of doing so because what is the point of even having him on the team when he only plays 8 minutes a game

Just listening to Brian Elliot during this interview, it does remind me of how Hextall was as a teammate.

He isn't selling anyone out.

Oh poop

Elliott said they don't have to entertain the home fans...

That headline is coming

Bill, I'm anxious to hear your take on the recent moves by Hak to pretty severely limit his rookies minutes in the 3rd period. Three games in a row is a trend. I'm failing to see how this is helping the kids develop and also failing to see how this will work long term. The forwards who have to pick up the slack are being asked to play more minutes then I'm sure they're used to.

Bill the benching of the kids in the 3rd again, what are your thoughts on back to back nights doing this and could this be worrisome as these kids are going to play afraid to make mistakes and lose more ice time or be benched? Is this a smart move for these kids development?

That's a typical hockey thing..they don't have to worry about the home crowd booing and gripping their sticks harder, etc.

Im on board for this, not just because im Canadian, but I think him playing top line minutes for the team could help him.

It definitely isn't all it is going to cause is frustration and lack of confidence. If you never get to play you most likely have the thoughts you are doing something wrong. If these kids are playing afraid to make mistakes usually that's what exactly happens they will make mistakes. Confidence is key in hockey I can't see how TK or Patrick have any whatsoever the way they are being handled.

Anything that gets him solid minutes will help him. As much as I want him here I'm all for it if Hak is going to barely ice him.

Geez the Senators are just about as bad as the flyers were on that streak. Karlsson now like 9 or 10 games without a point.

Yeah as am I , maybe that way he comes back into the fold after the tournament with a lot more confidence to his game.

Oh, no doubt.

That's why I hang out here. Bill knows these tropes and if you read Bill right, you can see when the bullpoop happens.

Hopefully I get to hear a another good breakdown of this game on Sirius NHL radio tomorrow. The two hour drive to Elizabeth NJ is going to be rough. I might have to try to call in and ask about the Patrick/Tk ice time for their view if they are taking calls.

Flyers probs won't do that though they'd rather play him and TK, 8 mins a night each in hopes of turning them into the next solid veteran presences ala Bellemare and Vandevelde. Offensive creativity what is that nonsense, show me if you can put in a great backcheck and dump and chase out there.
