Kulak looked like poop last game. Let's get Fat Rass back in there maybe?

Beware their powerplay.

It looked really good against the Leafs last week.

Sounding like Versteeg might be done for the season according to Roger Millions. That would suck if true.

you know, we could all use a spin up once in a while, maybe a 4, 6... you know? stop making it so predicatable.

Might not be able to do it this year, but I think we need to find Tkachuk a true sniper to play with. After Gaudreau he is probably the best playmaker on the team.

I love Frolik & Backlund but neither of them really fit the bill as a pure-goal scorer.

It was more of a joke when I mentioned trading for Nylander, but he could make our forward core look pretty deadly.

What would people think of centering a deal around either Hamonic or Brodie at the draft? That gives Ras, Kylington & co another year to develop & we would have Stone around to take top 4 minutes in the immediate future.

Johnny Money Ferland
Tkachuk Backlund Nylander
Bennett Janko Frolik

Just a thought.

Ya, not usually a good sign when the team starts seeking second opinions

Could be a good opportunity to see some of the kids at least.

Sucks for him, good news for the Flames. Resigning him never made much sense.

This is the perfect time for the Flames to meet the last place team. After the stinker they pulled off last game, I'd put their chance of winning tonight at about 99.4%

Might explain his poor play this season.

Source?

I saw they were looking for a second opinion but what did he do that would warrant that kind of time off?

Don't remember seeing anything that drastic

There was that injury against the Canes where he busted his leg then got hit with a shot.

The shot was nothing, but he looked like he was in agony on the original injury. Has probs been freezing the poop out of his leg since then.

Not sure why he would play through it so early in the season.

Yotes have been playing better lately, they have no pressure. Flames need this win so hopefully they actually come out to play tonight

They're still a bad hockey team playing better. The Flames are a good hockey team playing poorly. Fully expect a blowout tonight.

Righhhht forgot about this... He looked fine after this (if we're not including recent poor play)

Personally hope for a quick recovery, he was one of our best in the playoffs last year, not to mention he plays point on PP1

Agreed. It might even be a nice boost to the team if he could return for the stretch drive.

He looked pretty damn slow that game when he came back. We're talking "jagr slow".

I disagree. I think he has been solid for the 4th line and one of the reasons that the PP has actually been meshing.

Solid for the 4th line. He’s a completely one dimensional player and the fourth line has zero goals.

I’m also fairly confident that you could put Bennett or Tkachuk in the Versteeg spot on the power play and they’d be just as successful.

There are zero reasons to have Versteeg in the lineup over Hathaway.

Hands, play making ability, experience? They play different games so not an equal comparison.

Don't disagree on the powerplay though...
