Blues have some large contacts and many overpaid players. The gm should do better with long term contracts. |

Yeah Subban is able to do this punch thing as a legal hit. Which amazes me bc first of all one hand comes of the stick. So it would be a grab or interference except for he punches so it is quick which is roughing because it ain't boxing or mma.
Preds play a smart positional game and since they can hold and what not it is hard to break through. Still a good team who executed well. As strong as the Blues on the boards. Going to have to find a way to beat them because they always bring their best against the Blues. |

On the topic of contracts, I think that our situation is actually pretty favorable.
In order of AAV:
Tarasenko 7.5M is great value.
Stastny and his 7M are off the books after this year. Was a short term contract that weakened a division rival.
Pietrangelo is looking like a Norris finalist at 6.5M, that is tremendous.
Steen is probably overpaid at 5.75M for the next four years. Also expecting some solid digression in his game.
Parayko at 5.5M, I think just about everybody was pleased with that.
Schwartz, Jay Bo, and Schenn up next. Jay Bo maybe a little pricey but he's solid and only two years left. Schwartz are Schenn are gonna be total steals if they even keep up 75% of their current production.
Interested to see if we try to re-sign Stastny or where his money will end up. |

Depends on whether or not we can find a taker for Gunnarson I think. If we can trade Gunnar, his cap number covers Edmundson's raise. If not, Statsny's money will mostly go to Edmudson and Fabbri. It's tough to see Blues giving Statsny much more than an Eric Staal type contract. |

Statsny isn't eligible for an incentive based contract. Only allowed on entry-level contracts, and over 35 contracts. |

I think Stastny is still an important part of this team, they're not quite ready to let him walk. I'd like to see him re-sign a one or two year deal. I would think he would be in line for a fairly reduced salary based on his production and age. I'd say he's luck to have made a small fortune already considering what he's accomplished. |
