Where does it say that it wasn't? I thought i referenced the game being Tuesday and the lightning win last night leap frogging them back over the Blues. |

Guys I like the Oilers franchise - Tied to Grant Fuhr, Roloson and his cup run due to wearing the same Goalie mask back then and of course Pronger being there but it is more than that... I even have a Fuhr Campbell Conference All Star sweater.
My tone in the blog must be worse than I realize. It was a bad game, turn the page and move on from the game.
I still believe the D has issues that are on the GM. Too many overpayments or payment for promise on the back end imho. Sekera at 5.5? russell at 4? No real value in those contracts imho. Larsson's also seems too high as well imho. Just my 2 cents which isn't worth much.

One game doesnt make a season. Defense and all the guys you mentioned(except sekera) look great last night. |

Your tone was fine Jason, we’re just a hurtin fan base at the moment.
Good blog, as usual.
P.S.
I did kinda want to fight you about your Larsson comment though. |

My Larsson comment is nitpicking really and more probably a reflection of small sample size due to his Devils history and bad luck on the Oilers games I have seen. My main issues are Russell and Sekera and the deals they were given. They reminded me of the Blues Jay McKee deal which I hated. I also worry about what Chiarelli will do after the year with Nurse's RFA contract.
As a Blues fan who went through some real lean years after we traded Pronger to you and also having never won a cup, we can understand a hurting fan base.

Very true but I've seen enough of Russell in my life and I'm not a big fan at least not at $4mm AAV. |

Like 3.75 vs 4.16 expensive. The STL guys know i nit pick the contracts a bit. Every cap dollar counts especially as players get raises (see McDavid, see soon to be Schwartz, Schenn, etc.) - Jason Millen
Don't worry about the tundra nuggets. The last deep drafts saw how many St. Louis based players drafted in the first round as compared to all of Canada?
I wonder what is the score of current NHLers from St. Louis vs Edmonton. Maroon, Bishop, Wideman, Tkachuk, Stastny, Keller and many more.
Time to get over this crap and realize the score was 8-3 and even Pierre wouldn't shut up about how terrible the Oilers were playing. It's just a game who cares if you trade away Dubyik and Eberle away for nothing? It's not like you teaded Pronger for Brewtal, Wyowitka and whoever else was an AHLer. |

Fair enough. Last year he was one of our best esp in the playoffs. He plays both sides which makes his job tougher and he plays all the dirty minutes for us.This year the whole team is struggling so its hard to pin anything on one guy. |
