Was surprised to see Chabot called up after the team specifically said he would not be used in an “in and out” type situation. Will be interesting to see how he is used. Personally, I wouldn’t call him up until he can play top 4 minutes. I’d like to see the following top four for at least a little while:
Dion – Karlsson
Chabot – Ceci
If Chabot is deployed on the 1st PP unit with Karlsson and it works, he will probably stick around for the foreseeable future.
Interesting to see the Sens claim Gabriel Dumont off waivers. He doesn’t bring in anything special at all other than adding a body to keep forward prospects in the AHL. Maybe he is used as a place holder until Dorion can bring in a better forward via trade?
Looks like the whole team recognized the Ranger game was a bit of a wakeup call. Will be interesting to see how they respond versus a Capitals team that isn’t afraid to open things up.

You can usually count on Ovie showing up agaisnt the Sens, hopeful they can play better tonight. |

I really hope that Boucher allows Chabot to show what he can do. Chabot is already the second best defenceman on the team, and I believe he should develop up in Ottawa. He's already a top-4, there is no doubt. He just needs a few weeks to a month to adjust to NHL game and he will be a top-4 in Ottawa full time. Really hope it works out. I think he's here to stay. He could potentially help run the Ottawa power play.

I'm a bit worried about tonight. Washington is ready to push and if what is being reported is true, Ovi and Backs were practicing together today... Scary for us.
I can't wait to see what Chabot does playing against the greatest goal scorer of his generation. Prolly of all time.
Chabot should be in a top 4 role. |

I said above he does well agaisnt Ottawa.
26 Goals 17 Assists in 41 Games played. Pretty damn good.
But...
45 Goals 43 Assists in 61 Gp vs Winnipeg and
41 Goals 42 Assists in 64 Gp vs the lighting. |

Yes I agree, but he hasn't really played with Backs all year and the report was they were practicing on the same line. That's a scary thought considering how well they play together and how his scoring pace basically doubles |

Nothing new. Ovi is good. Backstrom is good. Other dudes over there are good.
Sens have to try and contain the Capitals attack and exploit their defence and get on Holtby early. They are a really good team but are very fragile if things aren't going their way. They don't have the "pesky Sens" vibe. |

I hate to be the A-hole who says "I told you so" but I did say. Partner Ovi with Backs and they will score and what just happened?
Backs makes a very smart play across the ice, second pass on Ovi's stick and a goal.
Overall not a bad period, we'll have to push in the 3rd |

I mean, Ovie scores lots of goals regardless of who he's with.
Watching Ceci try to catch him was rather funny/depressing though. |
