Good to have Chucky back! With Ferland doing so well I'm almost tempted to have him replace Ovi in my hockey pool.

Let's hope our defence can get its poop together today, especially our 2nd D pairing, like wtf... I almost want to see Stone back with Brodie, they seem to have better chemistry than the Brodie/Hamonic pairing..

GFG

Kind of annoying that the year I take Backstrom in fantasy at a high round he lays a goose egg.

Ovie's not even doing well with Kuz get your lines together Trotz

After this game obviously...

What to do about Lack? I mean, with that last name not sure how he ever became a goaltender.

Both have looked underwhelming to say the least.

Gotta say, at this point in the season, Gaudreau is leading the race to be the first Flame to win the Hart (Iginla got screwed), and I don't even think it's close.

Up and down goaltending, I'll be kind and say the defence has been underwhelming, anemic secondary scoring, disastrous PK, but all that is cancelled out by Gaudreau's start to the season, and the Flames are right in the thick of things for the division.

That's what I think, put Stone and Brodie together and let Hamonic work things out. Or just let Stone and Kulak play 2nd pairing minutes ...they've actually been damn good. Honestly, I think Stone is a really good dman and should be in the top 4 and Kulak has been excellent with Stone.

Maybe we should dial Brodie's minutes back a little bit from the 25+ minutes he's playing a night, I don't know.

What I do know is that the price we paid for the Hamonic acquisition is looking quite steep these days. I know he's a stay at home type defenceman, but a measly 2 points so far comon..

It was steep at the time considering how well Stone and Brodie played last year, and there was really no argument that Hamonic was any more than a minor upgrade over Stone.

People got excited because they'd heard of Hamonic before, but he was playing for a team that no one watches. He hasn't been all that special for the last couple years.

Appears that way. Lazar hasn't done anything to deserve to be out, but i don't mind Freddy from time to time. People female dog about "Dougie taking up two roster spots," but Freddy has been the perfect spare fwd. He's serviceable when he gets in, and apparently he's got a great attitude towards sitting in the press box.

Hopefully the D looks better today. I wonder if Brodie has some nagging injury? Haven't heard anything like that, but his play has been well below his standard. If he is hurt, he shouldn't be playing. I'd prefer Rass to get in a few more, than have Brodie prolong any injury he may have.

Yes. Stone back with Brody would be a good idea.

I was wondering that but he has been pretty poor all season.

Johnny is having a monster year & he is back showing creativity in the offensive zone. I think having Ferlund on that line is giving him a little bit of extra space & he really is using it. Monahan is our version of Mike Bossy.

I think we need to get Brodie off the #1 PP & put Hammy on it & get Versteeg off & put Gio on the other side. Agree, lets cut back some of Brodie's minutes & see if he can get this shat cleaned up. A win would be huge tonight!!

He has been Ok.

Leading the league in penalties drawn and every fan on every other team hates him. 2 game winning goals in shootouts. Kid plays good defense and is always in the middle of the scrum.

He has 13 points in 18 games, 2 points less than Nuge, 1 point less than Draisaitle.

I like dem apples.

Completely agree with this. Freddie's been the perfect 13th forward and he seems to have embraced the role. He has a great attitude towards it and plays well enough when he does get in for me to not understand the hate he gets.

As for our blueline, I don't know what's going on but Brodie's looked off so far. Hamonic's been struggling a bit since coming back from injury. Moving Stone up to play with Brodie might be a good idea, but then again Stone and Kulak have been fantastic together. Maybe bumping the Kulak-Stone pair up to the Top 4 until Brodie-Hamonic figure their poop out is the best call. That's the beauty of having 5 top 4 D-men (and Kulak is making a strong case for 6), we can move them around a bit if some of them are struggling and we should be fine.

Brodie has struggled defensively...he is also one of the league leaders in scoring by D men
