Here's one option they could try with Gudas suspended, but the Flyers not going farther away that Pittsburgh till early December.

Waive Read. Recall Vecchione. Demote Alt when MacDonald is ready to be activated.

Giroux-Couturier-Voracek
Weal-Filppula-Simmonds
Raffl-Patrick-Konecny
Leier-Laughton-Vecchione
Weise, Lehtera

Provorov-MacDonald
Ghost-Hagg
Sanheim-Manning

If you need another dman, waive Lehtera.

Funny the people are that are calling for Hak's head. This team played the last two weeks with middle 6 centers that were complete and utter cap dumps that play like it and they wonder why we get shut out. Kind of important positions on a hockey team...not just 4th line umberger stashes.

There's nothing to do but wait. It's frustrating yes but the coach has the team playing the right way...need better talent to execute. He has always gotten the effort from them, just hasn't been enough

Gudas reportedly apologized to Perrault after the play, saying it wasn't intentional. The Winnipeg player did not accept the apology, although whether he did or didn't is irrelevant.

I saw Perrault's post game quote. He handled the incident like a tool.

That "vicious chop" certainly didn't affect his goal celly.

IMO, i think it was pretty obvious Gudas did it on purpose. He was not very happy that his helmet got taken off/came off after battling with Perreault got angry and annoyed and made a very stupid choice. Hoping he gets at least 5 to see if Morin can get in although they'll probably choose Alt or Oneil

Also idk what im more pissed about, the fact that they stuck Patrick with Dale (frank)ing Weise and Simmer (who's as cold as the North Pole) or that they gave in less than 8 minutes of ice time. I get it he hasn't played in a while but it's not like he's coming back from a groin injury or something. Anyways, it'd be nice if they could put him in a spot to succeed. Weise has no business being in a line with him.

On Gudas yeah he was a fool. Alt is already with the team and McDonald should be back next week. You can afford to roll 6 d right now as the only road game until 11/27 is in NYC. I don't see Morin getting a call.

As for Patrick he wasn't getting special teams time yesterday and that game was chock full of special teams time. He got caught in the numbers game it happens.

Simmonds had his best game in weeks, by far, last night. He's close to breaking out. Weise is on probably on that line for the short-term. I'm not in Hakstol's head but I suspect it is because Weise is a decent skater and there is some familiarity between them (two of Patrick's three points this season have also involved Weise).

Patrick's ice time last night was low largely because the Flyers spent a lot of time killing penalties and he's not part of it. Also, at least in his first game back, he didn't play on PP2, although he'll probably get back there soon.

Patrick's biggest offensive issue so far has nothing to do with his linemates or his hands. It's his feet. They need to get quicker, especially in his first stride.

I wonder if he want to the same power skating school as Coots?

Morin and Myers were awful in Wednesday's game, but both probably just need a couple games to get back to form after a fairly substantial injury absence. The Phantoms as a whole have been a mess the last two games.

The Phantoms play in Laval tonight. If Morin bounces back quickly and if MacDonald is out more than one more game (he may even play tomorrow -- not clear because there was no practice today and won't be a morning skate tomorrow with a 1 PM game), perhaps Morin could get a callup. But that would involve another decision of whether to play him over Manning (a popular choice but probably not Hakstol's short-term preference) or Sanheim. Then again, the likely protracted absence of Gudas opens up a need for things Morin brings.

Oh I can see the Morin replacing Gudas as an on ice fit. My issue is with the suspension you don't get the roster spot opened to make the easy swap so you have to play a shell game to get Morin here. And I want to see him with the Flyers. I'll probably be going nuts the first time he stands a guy up at the blue line.

Buying Lehtera out this summer would impose a cap penalty of $1.67m in 19-20, but it would also save the team that amount in actual cash.

The game wasn't on a Center Ice channel for me last night. Thank goodness for the NHL.TV app. I was actually able to watch the Flyers feed.

Question: Why doesn't NHL.TV show commercials but the Center Ice channels do? They're using the same feeds, right?

Probably contract wording. One contract requires the commercials and the other don't or the other way around.

I think it's the same way with the MLB also. If you got Extra Innings you get commericals but on MLB.tv you get a commerical in progress please stand by message.
