Nice blog, Jan.
And a better game from the boys!! Nice to see that November brings with it a complete 60 minute effort!!
Does this mean that we are atop the Power Rankings??

All I'm saying is that if the Rangers win the Stanley Cup this year it will be because Zuccarello tried to end Hedman's life.

One game at a time...I felt going into last night it was important for the Rangers to be competitive and get at least a point against Tampa Bay.

Very happy about the win and the defensive effort given. By know means perfect and it helped that Stamkos and Kucherov were a little off tonight.

On to the next game

And does this mean youre not sending AV his last pay check?

Good blog Jan.

Good game. Where the hell has the Miller been that scored last night? That was a power forward move.

Personally I am not for that unless all avenues of change have been exhausted. It is not so clear that AV is clear problem here.

When the Penguins made the coaching change 2 years ago it was pretty clear the Johnson was asking his stars to play a different way than they were actually comfortable doing.

So is AV asking his team to play to their strengths?

Sully isn't shy on benching guys within reason to get them going, AV doesn't do that does he? We've had Sheary, Horny & Hags all benched to take a breath & watch a game or 2. It seems like AV loves running different lines like its musical chairs as well, is that true?

Also, not sure about the last couple of games, but I watched a bit of the Vegas game & thee was zero hitting. Nothing. That's not a normal Rangers team MO.

All on the players. I know people love to blame AV for the team not hitting ect. I think its a load of crap. Anyone who thinks AV says before a game "Remember guys, no hitting." is just excusing the players and blaming AV.

The Habs playoff series last year was nasty great hockey. Probably more physical and dirty then any playoff series under Torts.

I doubt a coach says that, but I do think a coach would be pointing out the absence or lack of hitting. Opposition not playing with any thought of being hit the way Vegas did (& Vegas aren't the fastest team playing skilful incredibly fast hockey), is going to be tougher in my opinion. were they hitting Tampa? If so, it's been identified possibly?

A very nice win. a complete 60+ min effort by all. Now, Steven Kampher did ok and even dropped the gloves twice but somehow someway, Brenden Smith needs to get his act together. However, if thats not the case is there a market for him to say Toronto for Tyler Bozak? David Desharnia is not going to last very much longer here IMO. Lets hope this roll keeps getting buttered!

Yup, Tampa game was pretty physical.

Part of it is they have been chasing the puck and turning it over most of the season, not very conducive of a physical game. Part of it is the players, for whatever reason a lot of them choose not to be physical. Zuke for example is usually a feisty pain in the ass, but up until last night, very quiet.

I think once they gain a bit more confidence and get comfortable with their game might start to see a bit more physicality.

i thought they actually did a good job of protecting their own blue line last night. there were a few times when the defense stood up some of the big guns on tampa and frustrated the hell out of them, especially in the second.

Yup, you give Kucherov or Stamkos too much space, burn the hell out of you.
