Its less frustrating when you have low expectations and the kid doesn't pan out.

Byron, Drouin, Lehkonen is that really an nhl teams first line? I hate the habs and im even starting to feel bad for them now. If you have hopes in mccarron as one of your top prospects your franchise is not in good shape. Ive seen him play a lot of games live and he's slow and seems like he's always trying to keep up with minimum offence. Hes strong but thats his only asset which isnt much in todays nhl, hes not even that good of a hitter as most guys get away from him easily. He kindoff looks like frankenstein on skates to be honest. Very similar to say a Patrice Cormier in Winnepeg, never a full time nhler but can play well in the ahl and in a pinch he can play a couple games in the bigs to fill a hole.

Well no one but generally teams call up there best prospective future nhlers or ex nhl seasoned vets. And Mccarron certainly isnt the latter. So one would only assume there is a hope he is the first.

McCarron is a 4th liner at best, we all know he sucks. Habs prospects pool is thin, the best ones are Poehling (ncaa), Ikonen(SHL), Juulsen (injured/AHL), Lindgren (AHL goalie) and Mete...with the Habs (18yrs old)

Scherbak and McCarron look like potential busts...sadly

If Drouin is going to excel at center, he needs quality wingmen to offset his weak areas. Granted, the kid doesn't have a lot of weak areas (faceoffs, physicality), but you need somebody hardnosed on one wing to dig out pucks and battle in corners, and you need a finisher on the other wing - or, a playmaker who can dish to Drouin after the lunchpailer digs it out of the corners. I don't know much about the Habs depth players, but I would stack some talent on Drouin's line - maybe Patch or the maligned Galchenyuk.

Ikonen plays in the SM-Liiga (Finland), and Mete is 19 years old.

I'll show myself out now.

I think Larry Brooks suggested the Rangers should trade Kreider/Zuccarello to the Habs for Galchenyuk.

A real power forward like Kreider maybe could help the team...

No big trade coming, player value is at its lowest right now. Help must come from within.

So...time to look at the upcoming draft.

Going for a player I hate with passion. Really sounds like a Bergevin type move, I must admit.
