Hey Garth, come back down to earth. Pu was tag along for the knights in their 2016 campaign. The offensive force on that team was dvorak, tkachuk, marner, piccinich, jones juolevi and mete. |
|
|
|
Pu was never a top player on those great London Knight teams. Domi, Tkachuk, Dvorak and Marner drove those teams. Pu is now a leader of a bad Knights squad. He has one goal so far this season. Far from being a "junior hockey scoring sensation".
The kid was a third round pick. Just let him quietly develop. He may turn into a player. No need to label him the latest and greatest can't miss prospect in the Sabres farm system |

Do you literally just make this stuff up as you go? Domi, Tkachuk, Dvorak and Marner weren't on the team last year and they went 46-15...Max Jones was the most highly touted player on that team he got 36 pts in 33 games...Pu meanwhile had 86 pts in 63 games...making him leading scorer on the team by 14 points! He is a sensational junior scorer.
Literally the only thing you got right was that London is a poope team this year at 3-8-1. Honestly, we all talked and...we think you need to try harder. |

The Sabres have won 2 games...why even bother trolling with subject matter you don't understand? The "Sabres suck" comment suffices just fine. |

Those players I mentioned were leaders of their Memorial Cup winning team. I am aware they were not on last years team. The Knights team that lost in the second round of the playoffs.
86 points in a junior season is nothing spectacular. Just look at the number of Junior players who have scored a ton in Junior but are now playing in the ECHL or lower. Adam Brooks, Leaf prospect, had seasons of 120 and 130 points in the WHL recently. He is not considered to be a good NHL prospect. I suppose he'll end up in Europe in a few years
Have fun continuing to drink Garth's Koolaid. |

So wait, he didn't get to play with any of those players you mentioned, he was top10 in OHL scoring and his team went 46-15 with him as 1C...yet you're still going to try to defend the ride along story you were trying to sell?
Have fun making things up and backtracking afterwards. |

Actually, he did. During the 2015/16 season.
Making things up? Pu was a top 10 scorer last year. Take a look at the list of other players in the top ten. Kevin Hancock? Kole Sherwood? Ryan Moore? Jordan Kyrou? Petrus Palmu? Not exactly notable names.
That is all I am saying. Scoring 86 points in Junior, as you say, on a strong team, means little.
I am done with you. You are not dealing in reality. |

I like the kid and maybe for once this franchise will develop a third-rounder who becomes more than a fringe-NHLer. |

Whatever you say. You can try to discredit my opinion but they are based on facts. Look at the history of top Junior scorers. So many end up nowhere.
The fact remains. The Sabres are bereft of young prospects. Murray traded so many players and picks away. Many of those picks (Reinhart) were bad.
I feel bad for Sabre fans....Only in Buffalo, would Cliff Pu be considered a "top prospect" and a "junior scoring sensation" Keep drinking the Koolaid and avoiding reality |

I know you get great satisfaction demeaning Buffalo fans and Garth . But I think you are wrong about Cliff Pu . This kid has the goods . I have attended a few Knights games this year and on a dismal Knights team he has been one of the bright spots . With proper development this kid is going to be a good NHL player . I have been attending Knights games for a long time and have seen plenty of great players come through . Don't sell this kid short. |

Bernard has no time for your positive opinion in light of the Sabres! He's too busy with his two monitors set up in his mom's basement googling hockey facts and drawing pictures of Garth in Microsoft Paint! |

You do enough discrediting yourself.
Guhle, Nylander, Mittelstadt are all good prospects. Pu, Asplund, Davidsson and Luukonen have NHL potential. (Bereft is a bad word to use here). How Murray got involved in this, no clue.
No one was clamoring for Giorgio Estephan when he got 89pts...the point is, not every prospect is the same. Cliff was their best player last year, despite being with Mete, Jones and Juolevi. The reality doesn't matter though, as long as you get to make some nonsensical comment, all is well. I simply choose to call out your nonsense every now and then, no Koolaid necessary. |

The problem for me is Garths over hyping of everything sabres. Pu is a good prospect...nothing more. His speed is great, but others in the NHL have that speed, not just McDavid. And, while his numbers were good last season, he was in his draft+1 season. They should have been good.
Not taking away from the player, just pointing out the flaws of Garth's over enthusiasm. |
