Sheng Peng: Who's in Goal? Getting to Know Oscar Dansk Jonathan Marchessault nears return, so will somebody get sent down? Oscar Dansk talks about what happened with the Blue Jackets and what it was like to play with a 15-year-old Connor McDavid. Gerard Gallant suggests that Dansk and Maxime Lagace will be an open competition.

Man rolling the dice like that, might be better to bring in a vet backup for Dansk and let Legace take full starter time in Chicago but its going to prove very interesting to see how both will fare.

Yes, someone like Zatkoff is third-string in Ontario and should cost next to nothing.

Doubt VGK ready to give up on him. He hasn't been bad, just nowhere as impactful as Tuch. They're the only two waiver-exempt players on the roster. Of course, they could just waive somebody like Reinhart, but McPhee has obviously not been inclined to risk sacrificing any non-waiver assets.

On Ship:

Not bad. Good stick, some flashes of strong play in that middle. He does often seem a bit indecisive, positional uncertainty, and if the ego wall can fall then a week or two in the A, hopefully some rage scoring, could set him up to shine. Hands are elite. Get him a Russian. Nonetheless, leipsic has anti-puck magnets in his stick and despite the skating ability he always seems to miss shots "I could make," I'd put march on the ruskie's wing across from tuch or trade march if the "can't teach speed" attitude is prevalent. I am not a march fan, he's not made of lead like debrincat or Kane and just so smoll.

Need a more dynamic center for big deal Neal and French David. Ginger demon Cody Eakin (GDCE) is playing his best but he is not a top-6 centre. I think ship should get some shifts up there. Could be dynamite. GDCE between Tuch and March. Leipsic sits. Better top-6 than just swapping march in for the Ruskie.

Huge gamble with Legace or Dansk as starter for the next X amount of time until MAF or Subban returns-- even Malcolm felt like a gamble, but he's faired well so far.

Not going out to get a veteran/seasoned goalie and throwing a guy out there with mixed AHL/NHL experience (Legace) and little to no AHL/NHL experience (Dansk), seems odd to me.

I think Zatkoff could be ok or even McBackUp in Toronto. They have a glut of defence, worth a phone call at least to Lou to see. Definitely some options out there for them other than tossing the kids right into the fire. Then again the kids might well surprise here too.
