Queue in all the idiots saying that the Devils should've picked Nolan Patrick - PapaSquat
Hischier: 13.16 chances/60
Patrick: 7.36 chances/60 |

I'm very happy with his play and skill but there is no denying he's gotten beat on pretty badly. Rick Nash's elbow cam close to causing some real damage. He got cross checked into the back of the goal and he's getting knocked down all over the place. The Rangers seemed especially hard on him; which is fine, it's hockey. Just saying Bratt for example seems to be holding up better.
I was wondering if Nico was really dejected in the last game because at times he looked that way to me. I hope he's mentally holding up. It can't be easy for any 18 year old but it's probably even crazier being a somewhat surprising 1st overall.

I said between 37 and 45 points... he's pretty much on pace, barring zero improvement during the season.
Yeah, he's fine. I'm not concerned. NJ now has the kind of team where if one line isn't firing on all cylinders, they're supplemented with other lines who can now chip in offensively. Hischier faced a tough night in Toronto, but he's learning. |

That cheap ELBOW from NASH got to him a little. You could see it.
He has skills . Just confidence is a little low right now. Needs someone on line to protect him. he is 175 and 18yrs old . Nash is 34 6'4 211.
That could be intimidating . BUT that is the NHL.
Problem is you have HALL , Bratt , Mojo , Nico all need protecting .
And only Noesen and Hayes to do it. Coleman tries but we saw what the caps /Wilson did to him.

I think Nico has been great just hasn’t had any Puck luck, he just has to continue to play his game and the points will come... I originally wanted Nolan but now I’m very happy we took Nico |

I think he's doing just fine for an 18 year old.

Thanks Todd.
He's no bust. The kid can definately play. Nico has played a great 2-way game and will pick up his offense throughout the season. It's early still, and his offense hasn't been required yet. |

He'll be a good Top-6 center for a long time. Maybe a Filppula-type. His physical maturity and potential ceiling just aren't as high as Patrick's. |

Cam Jam was last seen playing for the Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL. He managed to put up 120 PIMS in 62 games. Not that 33 is really old, but maybe we should find someone younger. |

I could definitely be wrong, but hasn't patrick already dealt with concussion/knee/back issues? If so i wouldn't have drafted him top 5. Those injuries are all common re-occurrences. Also sucks being drafted after the past two seasons (mcdavic/Eichle, Matthews/Liane), thats just not fair. |

I can't believe Josefson is only 26. That's what I have to look forward to in Lias Andersson. |
