No one wants (frank)ing Stoner Engelland or Sbisa.
Either trade Shmidt or Miller or just send Stoner and the gang to Chicago

How stupid do you have to be to send your 1st line center down to the minors, just so you can carry an extra player - and then not tell him why you are demoting him???
Like, seriously, how unbelievably stupid do you have to be to do that to your star center? All you had to do was give him a heads-up and let him get paid a ton of money for sitting in a hotel somewhere. But, instead, you've now disrespected him and pissed him off royally.
Jesus, every time I think my team's GM is bad, I'll have to remember Shipachyov in the AHL (and some of those expansion draft picks). Mind-boggling... |

Thanks but no thanks. I do not wish to take on the thankless position of Kings blogger, even on an interim basis.
I hear S2TP is available..... |

McPhee (as evidenced by many of his expansion draft fails) clearly wanted to tank the first season (or few) when the expectations are low, fan demand is high etc. The league had set up the process for VGK to actually draft a decent team, McPhee decided in many cases to take bad/young/inexperienced players and picks instead of some of the quite good ones that he could have, but still ended up with some decent players so is now trying to send down the ones he can, and will likely trade the ones he can. (James Neal is scoring himself right out of town) |

I tried man, I am grabbing at straws here.... we need to keep piping up about it or we will not have a writer for the whole season. |

@wilkobecks
that's what i love about pro sports. that and coaches/Gms sawps in the middle of a season. that's real sportmanship. |

My thought on the many (justified) comments. I think McPhee is correct in terms of thinking in the long-term than the short-term. There are a lot of reasons for Vegas to field a less-than-best-possible team right now and for the next couple years. Acquiring draft picks, even low ones, is a worthwhile goal.
However, he is taking it to some extreme here to protect assets who would probably pass through waivers unclaimed anyway. And there is a question about how Shipachyov is taking it all. Disappointing your star for this possible gain seems questionable.
Maybe Shippy takes it in stride, is called up next week, puts up points, and everybody is happy. Or maybe he comes up, struggles, and people start to point fingers about why he's not producing.
There's a chance that this all becomes much ado about nothing, but there's also serious potential for the optics, etc. to get much worse too. We'll see.

Sorry, man. I don't have any say about hiring staff. It was a well-played game against the Sharks, but I'd caution going over the moon over some fluky/bad goals allowed by Jones. I am enjoying Iafallo and Fantenberg, but Kempe and Brodzinski are off to slow starts. Noticed Kempe already pulled off the PP. |

THIS sucks considering the Kings opened the season with back to back wins and looked very good against the Sharks in their own building which is always a plus!
Definitely need more Kings articles!
They just better win when I go out to the west coast and see them in December |

It is as if he was challenged by another GM to say no we arent trading for him, we will just get him off waivers.
Based on who is playing it seems he is trying to get someone to buy a veteran defenseman, and McPhee will surely have to eat salary (not that would be an issue). There just isn't a way you can convince me that Griffin Reinhart is ever going to turn into something that makes this worth it

McPhee protecting assets? Almost 30 other teams reassigned players that were better or have more promise then some of the scrubs he should be sending to the AHL. All this is going to do is make it more difficult to attract free agents down the line. |
