Safe to say that Sean Couturier has no offensive upside. He should not be on the power play, he has no creativity to his game. And for all of you that say but he drives play 5 on 5, the guy has never cracked 40 points, just stop. |

From the last blog: Did you watch the game?
All the reports are that line was very good as the game went on. Started slow but started to be a very good line by the end of the game. - J35Bacher
Yes I did. Giroux frequently drifted back to Center and RW and struggled to make plays along the wall when breaking out of the defensive zone. He looked most effective when he was skating through center ice. Maybe they give him more time to adjust but I didn't like what I saw. At the very least, they should flip him to RW. |

Couturier playing center on the 1st line last night has clearly rustled some jimmies. Maybe if G plays wing with him all season he can crack 30 ES points again. |

I don't think he has no offensive upside, at 5 on 5, with offense minded wingers, I believe he can generate some offense. However, I do agree that he lacks creativity and an overwhelming shot and I would take him off the powerplay. I'd rather see him playing more minutes shorthanded where he excels and at ES rather than on the pp.
My pp units, hoping that Sanheim is on the roster would be:
First Unit:
Giroux
Simmonds
Ghost
Voracek
Patrick
Patrick has both the size and skill to fill Schenn's spot on the top unit better than anyone else on the roster right now.
Second Unit:
Konecny
Lindblom
Filppula or Weal
Provorov
Sanheim

Last season Flyers were missing a #1 winger. So they move Giroux to wing and now they are missing a #1 center.

Per the coach, the Hartnell/Schenn spot is only open to lefties. |

If Sanheim is as good as he looked last night, give this a whirl for the PP units:
Simmonds
Giroux
Jake
Ghost Sanheim
Konecny
Patrick
Lindblom
Filppula Provorov

Sean Courteirer might be the worse hockey player to ever play with the top lines. |

Moving Couturier to 1C is stupid. Everyone saw how well he played once he was put where he belongs at 3C at the end of last year |

didn't see the game.
I agree Courtier should not be on the power play. He is a valuable player, for sure. I would give it another game and see what the line looks like. If the other 3 lines are getting chances it will give more time to see if G can play wing on the first line. Without balance, they need to scrap the idea. |

If you keep saying it does it make it true?
Couturier has never been the 3rd line center. If your matching against the other teams top line then aren't you going to be on the ice more?

not unless the other team's other lines are getting more ice time. |
