Whatever on that, I think the Leafs are due to have some setbacks this year whether it's sophomore slumps, teams adjusting better against them, injuries, whatever...and when those things happen they are going to likely not handle it well because they are so young. Last year they had sooooo many things go right that their fresh-faced little ones faced almost no adversity, whereas our team had nothing but adversity last year and should be a little more strong mentally for it.

The difference is where we made it in the playoffs though. Without the defensive injuries it's possible we could have been in the Cup Finals. They were 20 mins away from being there.

Toronto had a first round exit.

Me too. Not because they're actually worse, but because other teams will be better prepared, they're more likely to have a higher number of key injuries (being they had like 0 last year, that's pretty much a guarantee), and they have higher expectations.

I don't necessarily expect a huge drop off, but I think the people who think they're going to come out and exceed expectations are looking through rose colored glasses.

the leafs defense is questionable as it is ... 1 or 2 injury's and they are in big trouble.

Can Mathews repeat last years goal scoring, Gotta believe he will face better forwards, and defensemen? no denying he is a great player but do it for more than one year.

You can only have a certain percentage of "veteran" players in the lineup, you have to have AHL/junior guys in the lineup.
