I am most interested to watch this particular lineup tonight. Can't wait to see what Roslovic can do as well as Niku. It will be interesting to also see where Petan is at.
Hendricks gets to play against his former team. Kulikov's first game. Myers is back.
So much to watch ! |

All you degenerate gamblers like me make sure to bet either wpg moneyline or over 5.5. Edmonton is't playing McDavid, Draisaitle, or Strome from what their media has stated. So it should be a go WPG's way tonight. But Overs seem to hit regularly in preseason so don't miss out |

I'm just encouraged by the fact that Mo is changing things up this year with a clear message that losing and inconsistent play isn't going to be an option. |

That's his entire career in a nutshell. If we want things to change, Mo must go. |

Yup, too bad he got an extension. A major issue under his command has been terrible penalties, and terrible pk%. That is a stat that a coach has some degree of control over. Between that and horrible goal-tending I'm hoping that they can make the 8pt jump and be in the playoffs. Great team overall |

Very curious about where Petan's and Roslovic's games are at. Can Petan skate at NHL speed? Has his play without the puck improved? Can he play defensive hockey? Has Roslovic developed enough to be an NHL 3C or does he need another season with the Moose? |

Yet that was not the case during his stints in Carolina and TO. Both teams were well disciplined and special teams were decent. I think he might have a chance. |

Despite their Corsi I thought both Petan and Roslovic looked pretty good. Hendricks looked great and I have little doubt that he will be on the opening night roster. Hard to evaluate Niku. He made a few mistakes for sure but you can see the raw talent in his game. He will be Enstrom's replacement one day but still rough around the edges.
Its still early in pre-season but I think its becoming more and more obvious that Dano's day are numbered. Petan is certainly a much better player than Dano. I'd say Copp's days are numbered as well except that he can't be sent down after opening night without clearing waivers. Copp once again showed tonight why he doesn't belong on the Jets. Tanev is definitely Moose material only.
Its still early but the bottom two lines are looking more like..
Connor- Hendricks- Petan
Matthais- Lowry- Armia
Press box - Copp
Although I would love to see Connor and Perreault swapped and maybe Lowry and Hendricks swapped. |

Well, ladies and gents, that was certainly a game. What we learned:
1: Copp can't carry a line by himself. Hendricks and Tanev basically gave the puck up every single time either of them had it. Hendricks had one good shot early on, but Copp spent the rest of the game as the trailing forward on the rush just so he could turn around and skate back to play defence. Banish 15 and 13 forever.
2: Kulikov is well and truly terrible. Which is made even worse by the fact that he was once great. At 22, he was a bigger Morrissey. Now, at 26, he's a bigger Stuart. He clearly has the physical talent and enough playmaking vision to be a top 4 guy, but he's too busy chasing hits, taking penalties, and lagging behind the play in the defensive zone. Thanks, Dale Tallon.
3: Petan and Roslovic need more ice time, which also applies for Dano and Connor. Especially to Dano and Connor. All these guys do is produce goals, but none of them are really allowed the opportunity to show it. Lowry, Matthias, and Armia kill any and all scoring chances these guys create, and it shows.
4: Niku is the future, but he's not ready yet. Poolman is ready, but will be blocked by plugs Kulikov and Chairot. They should be the Moose' top pairing, but Melchiori and Nogier will probably play over them because Vincent is Maurice Jr.
5: We have a damn good core, and they deserve better. Maurice and co. have no idea what they're doing, what they have to work with here, and they refuse to learn or adapt. I hope we lose every single preseason game, and go 0-10-0 to start the season. Just so the bench gets cleared. |

It's possible!
Sent a text to Buff about his thoughts on the extensions.
Responded: " Kevin too far up ownerships ass to not be extended"
"Harry Potter is only here until they can find a decent coach, we figure it out as a group most nights" |

Sometimes I think Rexy is just a second handle created by Pete. What we learned is you have to relax, it's game 2 of the pre-season and game 1 for some. I'm pessimistic but you make me look like an eternal optimist.
1. Tanev should be Moose bound, no question. Hendrickson and Copp are 4th line players. They'll do some PK and have 5:00 minutes of ice time
2. One game, let Kulikov get used to his partner. You had this preconceived notion of him before he played a game with the Jets and now you're running with it. He'll be fine as a 5 D.
3. Petan played over 15 minutes, how much more time does he need? Dano needs to step up before he gets more minutes. I suspect Connor will land around 10-12 minutes a game to begin with.
4. Niku will play the Year with Moose, Poolman needs to at least start the Year in the AHL.
5.

Rexy...Give it up on Dano. He clearly is not talented enough to be a regular on the Jets and Hendricks will be in the lineup on a regular basis as he has many assets that Dano does not. Petan is also going to make this lineup. The only outside chance cog in his wheel might be Roslovic who is in phenomenal shape and works well with Connor. |

You say that, but Dano is literally better st every single thing there is to be good at. There's a ton of evidence to suggest Dano is, at worst, an elite 3rd liner. Hendricks is bad in the AHL. |
