So much can happen between now and the trade deadline. The Avs can really only get worse through injuries or by trading players for future and not replacing them. There are a number of D men available. How would you all feel about the Avs if they reached an agreement with Duchene to stay and they traded futures for a steady guy like Jason Garrison? Playoff contender? No. Competitive bottom 5 team in the league? Sure.

This Jared guy is a character how on earth can he believe Cowen is the Avs 5th defensemen this year? Maybe do some research before you take the easy road and say the Avs are going to be worse than last year. It's a boring narrative, but easy which is probably why you took that route. If you simply looked into this for 5 minutes you'd find the Avs have Lindholm, Bigras, Mirinov, Simens, and newly drafted prospects in Makar and Timmins leagues ahead of Cowen.
