Love Voracek. Hopefully he and G get their games back this season. As go those two, so go the Flyers.

In the early part of last year I thought Voracek was playing some of the best hockey of his career even though it didn't reflect in the numbers. Thought he was trying to drag his line as best as he could. He petered out as the season went along really losing focus in his own end numerous times. He's never going to be good in his own end but I feel like he will up his level of play there with better parts surrounding this team. He's not a machine, he's susceptible to lulls in effort and focus but I don't doubt when this team really starts to make a meaningful push in the standings he will be spearheading it.

I think there is a lot of question marks on this current roster, which is why I remain skeptical. I'm not saying this can't be a good team but there is a lot riding on G and Jake finding their games this season. I feel like there is a lot more guys who are either super inexperienced on this roster, or guys way past their prime. Guys like Voracek and Simmonds I feel are in their absolute primes. You can make an argument for Couturier and Gostisbehere but I feel like they have more to give. I'm also not ruling out the sophomore jinks when Provorov and Konecny.

This is just my opinion. I think too much is riding on a player like Jake Voracek.

Who are the key players that you feel are way past their prime? Most of the guys that fit this description, IMO, are guys that are role players like Filppula and Read. I guess you could throw Elliot in that group though 32 isn't really that old for a goalie. I would say that Giroux is likely heading into the downside of his career, but at 29, I'd hardly call him way past his prime.

You are correct in pointing out that they will have a lot of inexperienced guys on the roster, but I think that is unavoidable and simply part of the build from within process. No one expects them to compete for a Cup this year and the kids need to play at some point.

In regards to a soph slump, it could happen to anyone, but if there is any guy who will likely avoid it, it would be Provorov. His hockey sense and dedication to the game and fitness make me confident that he will only be a better player in his 2nd year.

3) "Gostisbehere," the race horse owned by Delaware Valley resident and Flyers fan Steve Wigmore, finished third in a race at Ellis Park in Kentucky on Sunday. Although he has yet to win a race, Gostisbehere has had one place (second) and four shows (third place) among his six races to date.

1992: The Flyers sign goaltending prospect Scott Lagrand, their fourth-round (77th overall) pick in the 1988 NHL Draft, to a pro contract after three seasons at Boston College.

Typical Flyers. Passed on guys like Alexander Mogilny and Joe Juneau to draft a never-was. Flyers are the worst ever.

My wife actually bought a pair for herself and my daughter. I'll go outside and watch day become night, but I don't need to look at it.

Agreed, Jake really was fun to watch alongside Couts and TK too. That line was our best line in the early stages of the season. Despite that line's success, I still would like to see G and Jake together. I'm hoping with the new additions / depth that we have enough fire power to keep them together.

I do find it funny that we hear a lot of let the kids play but then when it happens. OMG the team is so inexperienced.

This team is going to be a very interesting watch this year. I can't wait for camp and preseason.

Love Jakey, I think his I N T A N G I B L E S are often underrated. 93 is one of my favorite jersey numbers too.

He needs to make stronger plays to the net (more consistently) and shoot a lot more

More power moves through the slot and letting an across the grain shot go.
He did that quite a few times in shortened season.
