When we drafted him, he was an absolute steal. The Leafs braintrust were geniuses for stealing him in the 5th round, despite the fact that we knew nothing about him.

Then we ran Nonis out of town, so everything he drafted was absolute shyte. We all agreed that Toninato couldn't even hockey, despite the fact that we knew nothing about him.

It's a bit of a mystery where he stands now.

He's probably a bust because the Leafs' lack of ability to develop young players has ruined what was once a very promising career.

But then again, he could be very, very good, and the stupid Laffs letting him go is just one more example of our overall incompetence.

It's a shame that nobody here has absolutely any idea what kind of player he actually is, but let's all be honest here: it doesn't really matter.

In fact, it's easier to pass judgement without having to deal with pesky facts.

This situation is quite Leafy.

Whereas other teams are losing out on players that finish their college careers and want to test free agency, the Leafs lose out on a player that finished his college career because they wanted to let him test free agency.
