Todd Cordell: Devils expected to pursue Will Butcher, Blaine Byron

I hope we land Will Butcher. Our Defensive pool is so thin, even if he doesn't light the world on fire, any addition to it is an improvement. And that said, I think he has the potential of being a top 4 guy.

As for Blaine Byron, he feels like a replacement for Alexander Kerfoot. I won't be upset if we loose out on him just like how I am not upset that we are losing Alexander Kerfoot. I don't see either of these guys being anything amazing.

I think we land local NJ boy.... Connor Clifton (I think he from NJ). He's decent stay at home D.

my friend's brother was roommates with him at QU so I'm trying to get an idea where he might be signing...he led the country in penalty minutes when he was Freshman and played for CBA/NJ Hitmen growing up

I didn't check but I assume Hischier is pretty high, McLeod should be in there and if we're really really stretching, Anderson could have snuck in.

I am happy to see that Hischier was in the top 3. I was hoping that McLeod would've at least cracked the top 30 but with the way the first half of the season went, I can't say I am to surprised. Beyond that I am happy with the ranking that Anderson received. Wish that we had at least one or two guys in that list, but no complaints.

I agree they didn't feel short but Shero was able to build a very good prospect pool in 3 seasons which is a short time to put together a quality prospect pool

Meh. He did most of his damage on the pp and the ECAC isn't a good conference. I don't know that he'll be an NHLer and I'm definitely not losing any sleep over him not signing. I would've liked NJ to sign him because it's always nice to have more depth, but Vesey isn't any more than a 3rd liner and he was the more highly regarded prospect out of Harvard.
