Avalanche long term plan: let's do like the oilers did. Sucking until the next McDavid comes up.

bummer to see Footer go but meh really, it gives Nolan Pratt an allowance to make more of an impression w the D players. besides, defensive consultants can be replaced fairly easily and who knows how big of an impression Foote really had in that regard.

as far as Zadorov I dont know what the heck is taking so long. but if its over a million dollars just give it to the kid. I say lock him up a 3mil for 6 years. the guys gonna be money in the bank for a long time. why screw yourself over a bridge deal. just get things handled and lock the player up long term and give him the security he wants even if he hasnt completely earned it yet. you dont see Nashville w this kinda squabbling w its defensmen

Foote leaving for family is fine by me. Not reading to much into it.

BSN have said the 2 year deal is done BUT they're talking a long term deal, and if they can't reach one the 2 year will be signed

all the (frank)boys who are thinking this is another black eye for the org.

Foote has been living in Canada for the last year and concentrating on his kids hockey careers, even after leaving the Avs in his development role he still was at the Ivan Hlinka tournament sitting with Avs mgmt brass.

Dreger is a loser trying to make a story out of nothing
Avs are bad at getting in front of these sort of things to try to avoid (frank) boys like Dreger weird things to grasp onto

also why is that? why does Colorado keep things so secret all the time. wouldnt it help this organization if they went w a more open policy regarding stuff. I mean not complete transparency but at least be a bit more forthcoming on these kinds of organizational shifts and changes. be an organization that speaks up for itself. wouldnt it have been more meaningful if the Avalanche got out in front of this and put out the news w a thank you to Foote for whatever the heck he was doing for them?

it would seem to me a struggling franchise like the Av's could help themselves now and in the future if they werent so quiet about stuff and more present and on the ball in regards to being out first on these situations and showing they're an organization that cares for the people that work and contribute

my guess is there really don't care about pandering to the TSN guys, especially guys like Dreger, they don't have anything to say and don't feel the need to release information out.

THey don't do themselves any favours since it just creates a summer storyline for no reason to fill time in August.

But really how often do you get team press releases that a development coach is leaving an org. These are non stories al the time but but bc its the Avs, people like filling their time piling them on them this summer and its just Foote....of course you get a guy like Dreger going on and on about how he things and feels like things are weird with the Team. Key words, thinks and feelings....he has nothing to back it up.

I dunno just drop the puck already, I'm tired of these clown shoe comments like some of the ones above from such fan bases. Lets go Avs

I don't know about press releases, journos will put their view on anything that will sell whatever gets sold these days of the Internet. Whatever any reason is given, a journo can always spin & question it. Professional organisations shouldn't need to justify or substantiate anything they do, & the fans would probably already know what is happening anyway. The more they try & explain things the more poop gets discussed by people that don't know about it.

Yeah Dreger is just mad at the Avs because they don't provide him with any information. Now he had to make stuff up or put a false twist on it before he sends it out to everyone across North America. #fakenews

I wouldnt say hes mad and makes stuff up but he definitely makes large assumptions and leaps of faith with some of he tosses out there about the Avs.

Might hear something and he always goes overboard with it. I dont think he has been right or close to being right about an Avs story in the Sakic/Roy era.

they are sharing their AHL team wtih St Louis this year, after that the Blues are taking over the Rampage and Avs are promoting the Eagles from the ECHL to be the 31st team.

Thats why, whats the point of signing AHL guys when you dont have a place for them to play right now. But hey taking time to actually read an article about the Avs takes too much time, just go on capfriendly and act like you know whats going on

Canucks

I feel like a healthy varly (crossing fingers) is what will make this team less of a laughing stock. They will be enjoyable with youth and speed this year, but they might actually win a game or 2 with Varly on his game
