Great deal for the Wild! I'm not sure why Granlund only wanted 3 years though? Perhaps he has plans to go back to Finland after Koivu retires? But either way great cap hit. I don't often applaud Fletcher but he's done well this week.

Hes a UFA in 3 years. Going to get his pay day at 28 years old. Hes no dumby and im sure the wild couldnt afford to buy his UFA years in a longer deal

Nino has a better history of scoring and the Wild were able to get a 5 year deal done. Most athletes dont 'wait' to take the money because the future is so iffy for pros. An injury or a bad season can derail contract negotiations. So yeah, it's surprising he took less AVV on less seasons. Almost every other negotiation goes less avv for more years or more avv on less years... Either way it's a good deal for the Wild.

Love NN's attitude. "Very refreshing" indeed.

Well, $11 million is what I thought those two would command. Good job by Fletcher to get them under contract for reasonable rates AND with no NMC's. Now, Marcus Foligno who played on a line with Jack Eichel last year and will obviously NOT play on a top line with he Wild this coming season. Jeezus, I hope they can agree on something reasonable.
