57 goals and 98 assists. It's McDavid, the 100 million dollar man.

Great blog, well thought out with opinions that are not designed to just be click bait.

I would especially agree that the loss of Pitlick will be felt. I really don't know how management could let an asset like that go injury prone or not. He was a huge reason we started the season strong last year. Not sure who can provide the same pop he did.

EDIT: Forgot about Cagullia. He is a guy that could step it up as well, had a very strong playoffs.

Thanks, I appreciate it! In regards to Pitlick I would have loved to see him back too. My guess is that the Oilers were prepared to offer him another one year contract and weren't willing to offer the term that Dallas was.

Caggiula is a player I'm still not wild about. His actual production was worse than Pouliot over the season. It's true he scored 3 goals in the playoffs but he also didn't have any assists which to me is indicative of a player who was able to cash in playing with some good players (McDavid) but unable to produce himself.

LMAO, you wrote a blog about your prediction of being 6 goals short from last season based on all the additions and subtractions and the potential of what the players can do with one more season of experience. WOW.

You should have said, I'm guessing we fall 6 goals short of last year. What do you think? That's an Ek blog.

I had them predicted at 234. So glad to see we are close. I think you forgot to factor in that the Smith will hopefully not be giving away many freebies to you guys.

Still think you guys need to sign Wideman for the PP and to keep the linesman's heads up. He is the missing piece. Please?

Ahhh I think we are okay without Wideman... I think he's great....you should hold on to him.... really.....

As for Smith it really depends on what Smith you guys are getting. Honestly I think the Flames goaltending bumped my numbers up another 10 goals

According to you guys Smith plata well against the Oil. Hoping he does not pull an Elliot in the first 5 min of most games.

Well that's based on data over his entire career, including his prime. Which, in case u didn't know, he's well past.

They say the same thing about Laughs sister but in the end she still does the trick

I really don't have high expectations for Smith. But would say that for any of the UFA's that could have been signed minus Fleury and Bishop, both of whom got sent packing for younger cheaper options.
