Not even worth the $2m the bruins are offering.

I would disagree with that statement. 2-2.5 is fair. Especially for a one year deal, then he could probably grow a bit as a player and get a better offer or traded with higher value. If he has 40 points going into the deadline, he could be worth a 1st rounder.

I am just not comfortable leaving all hope in JFK and BJork for added offensive numbers. I hope that Stafford resigns, I would be more confident then.

Also, I would boldly predict a 45 point season for Vatrano and a main fixture on a productive third line.

Guess we will find out tomorrow what he is worth. If you can squeeze 40 points out of him again that would be great, but I'm not expecting big things if the Bruins keep him. If that happens I'm sure he will want 5M+ on his next contract. Also at this point, the bruins drafting really isnt exciting anymore, so landing a 1st round pick for spooner is meh for me at this point.

Would be just as happy letting Czarnik or JFK take the mantle of 3C and sign someone like Vanek for a year or to for the 2nd/3rd line. Really dont care about the spooner drama at all. Pasta should have been the priority and its just downright stupid he isnt signed yet.

Meet in the middle. Offer 3M 1 year. Avoid Arbitration and get the Pastrank deal done.

Agree with most of what's being said... give him $3m and be done with it... move along, move along.

This is a big year for him though... If he puts up some big numbers early, then the Bruins could probably trade him, and I think he would most likely be happier somewhere else and then maybe he would get his money. But if he puts up another mediocre year, it's going to be real tough for the Bruins. There likely won't be much of a trade market, the Bruins won't want to trade him for peanuts, and likely won't want to give him much, if any raise. So if that happens, I see us doing this whole arbitration thing again next year.

Vegas has the picks to gamble it on him.

I know you're sour on drafting, but nothing but good things have been said about a number of the guys. Not to mention how Carlo and Mcavoy have performed. And a 1st from Vegas is likely top 10

Zero chance you get a 1st from Vegas for Ryan Spooner. Maybe a 4th in 2019.

Willing to bet it wouldnt be a 1 for 1 trade if a vegas 1st is coming our way. More likely it would be spooner for a 2nd or 3rd.

I know the prospects have great reviews, but thus far Carlo and McAvoy are the only Sweeney prospects to be confirmed as NHL full timers with Carlo being the only one who has played consistently. Waiting on the ROI still, which is fine. I just believe in drafting the best player available, but not all strategies are the same.

Unless its spooner, a prospect, a roster player and bostons own first rounder. Even then, iffy.

Agree 100%

Especially on the Vanek front.

I'd love to see Vanek - Krejci - Pastrnak

I mean, it sounded like Vanek really wanted to return to Detroit, but it seems like the bruins could offer vanek all the money they will be paying spooner, maybe a bit more, and end up with a better option.

There are other players they could sign too, just think Vanek is the best one out there right now.

Well you are wrong. Ryan Spooner at 2mil is an absolute steal.

Matt Beleskey got 3.8 after putting up 32 points... Beleskey will never be as productive as Spooner.

The hearing is today, no?

If so does anyone have a time or do they not advertise that sort of stuff?

They're both a tick below mediocre and belong in the AHL.

False. But when hes skating 8 minutes a game he is not going to be effective. When his legs are moving and hes creating his own space he is a good player.

18 goals, 40 assists this year.
