I agree with you all the way James. Raanta imo will be the next Kiprusoff. I signed as a free agent and still have him. He was spectactular in Chicago and New York and now has a chance to become a Kipper or Talbot and I bet he answers the bell and more. Stepan will provide leadership and will like his new role with all the kids. Hammer will make the D stronger. To top this off I think Dvorak will explode this year and Strome hopefully will show us why he is the best player in the CHL the past two years. I am a Yotes fan now, lol |

Hah.
He is good. Darling happened to be slightly better, otherwise he'd still be in Chicago. Quick legs, good rebound control, fast. I see him taking Domingue's spot if the Coyotes defense can help him out. |

He can be after next July 01 but I am betting he gets a big dollar contract extension from the yotes by January. If he has a knockout season and not resigned he will be the big ufa come July 01. |

I just can't believe that the Rangers initially got him from the Blackhawks for Ryan Haggerty, man what a steal that was |

Hey Tanner, you are right in that they had to get rid of most of the old guard. Turn the team over to OEL and Domi. The number 7 pick in this draft I was more than ok with giving away given the depth of prospects we have. It would have been nice to get Liligren or however you spell his name, but Hammer, Stepan and Raanta will bring a winning attitude. However, we are still about 5.5 mil below the cap floor (once Bolland goes on LTIR) which leads me to this...
I think Chayka needs to offer sheet Draisaitl. I would go 6+ years for about 9-10+ mil a year. Maybe even 11. I know the genius that is Chiarelli said he would match, but I'd say go for it. At worst, it would cripple the Oilers moving forward as they would have nearly 35 mil in cap space tied up in 4 players (McD, Leon, RNH & Lucic). This would push the Coyotes payroll up to around $60 and amazingly increase the C depth.
I know it probably won't happen, but with Chayka not being part of the old guard of GM's, you never know what he may try and do... |

its hilarious that the rangers are considered a bad defensive team and yet hank's window is closing and he is losing his game all at the same time saving the team. it has to be 1 or the other. either the defense is bad and hank is still playing amazing, or hank is starting to lose his game and the defense is not bad.
i will miss Step and Wanta Raanta; Raanta had a great attitude. he was such a nice guy. hopefully he goes on to do well like Talbot. the rangers will soon be known as the goalie training school. |
