such a dumb move, so this is almost a lock.

If the price is right (low hit for 1-2 year), this could be a great move for a team on the rise. But, the price must be right and the term must be short.

lol did markov talk to the leafs ? i don't think markov want to sign in the same division if he go away.. i mean come on... if he did that, well i wish him the best for a Cup...he deserve one i guess...he's a great guy to be around..

but i still think best place is in mtl, as a fan Leafs pass from bottom of the league to contender now ? Marleau n Markov, with great kidz...can't be bad ! but i dont think they got the defence to win a championship yet..

You're absolutely right, it can't. The team is at 49 contracts, with RFA Connor Brown to still re-sign. You don't make it impossible to keep a rookie 20 goal scorer and two way forward by signing an over the hill d-man. Unless there's a team out there that wants to do a 5 for 1 swap like the Isles did two years ago, it can't happen.

Didn't stop Boggs, Damon, Youkilis, or Ellsbury to leave the Red Sox for the Yankees and that's a much bigger rivalry. Those guys got boo'd the rest of their career even if they weren't playing for the Yankees.
