There is some chatter that Jerabek has even better offensive ability than Zaitsev

EE? Does he hear the strides of his NHL blades?

How can you write a blog about Markov, mention his wedding and speculate on his return with the Habs without posting this picture?

Yeah, I think he'll be back.

I wouldn't let Bergevin make any more decisions. Fire him now, instead of waiting for the inevitable mid-season collapse

Dude has completely mangled this franchise over the past few years. They have no hope of winning anything, and have one of the worst prospect pools in the league to fall back on

Fire him

But let's not forget that Weber and Petry are great puck movers on the other side. Alzner is very capable of moving the puck up as well Benn.

Only my opinion but the only one of those guy I really see do any puck moving is Petry.

Well it is the correct opinion. Weber isn't even a good puck mover.

Weber moves the puck quite well, he just isn't labelled a PMD because he's also physical, sound defensively and has the bomb from the point instead of pinching down-low to help the attack. Guys get obsessed with the labels that players carry instead of what they can actually do on the ice. Despite saying this, I hope Markov returns to take some pressure off Jerabek, who has no business having to deal with that much pressure as a rookie.

You don't have to be small, fast and soft to be good at moving the puck out of the zone.

He's clearly not a great skater which is a requisite for being a good puck mover.

So you have to be a good skater to make good passes? Makes perfect sense to me...

I don't think so. Last 3 blogs I've sent in have been completely ignored and either Paul or Brandon have put out similar blogs a day or two after... so if I had to guess...

By that logic Kev, Markov should just retire because he can't keep up

It was a sarcastic remark because I had just finished saying that Weber was very good at moving up the puck which was countered with his skating. Markov has slowed down but should be resigned. He's smart enough that his losing a step hasn't resulted in him being a defensive liability.

This.

Fact is, there is little chance that any young player currently on the team, including Jerabek, would be as good as Markov for the Habs in the next two years.

And if somehow that's not true, Markov is still better than Schlemko....

Being a good skater is important to skate the puck when passing isn't an option. It should make sense, it isn't rocket science.
