Thanks Todd! One last question, can you rank how you think western conference standing will look by the playoffs next year?

Good afternoon to u all ✌🏻

Not so certain about being a contender but certainly a deep run is possible.
Team is rounding out very nicely IMO. The D is solid & very deep.
In goal not sold on Smith. Great puck handler but overplays the puck also.
His game is still solid but there will be hiccups but D could cover that up.
In the end scoring depth will be where i see the challenge.
The talent is there & if takes another step its very good times.

I see LAK on the sink & the Oilers your biggest competition.
The Ducks & SJ r still a force & fill out the other PO teams.

Signs i look for to gauge the Flames....
Handle the Ducks & LAK team strength & odds improve tremendously.
Control your nemesis aka Oilers & Alberta is mainstream again in the hockey world.
Lastly the games against the Central division will decide IMO if a cup contender is legit or premature. Its prolly a lil early to dream of a cup but thats why they play the games & the Flames r trending up very nicely indeed.

Enjoy your season & hope we can give u some great competition.

The Flames can win the division if Mike Smith doesn't poop the bed.

Spencer Foo. College free agent from Union College that they signed about 3 weeks ago. Finalist for the Hobey Baker but lost out in the end. 23 years old. He also was the fittest player in the Flames Dev camp that just ended. Could be a good one.

The Hobey is such a garbage award. So many players have deserved to win it twice, but an unspoken agreement to select players who have "put in their time" is a constant.

Johnny and Gillies looked a step above the winner in two separate years. The following year for both; they got their one. Happen to beat the "odds" and win one as a Junior/Sophmore and you're guaranteed to not have a chance at another.

Players like Foo that weren't a candidate the year before will get, at best, a nomination.

Alright I'm all good with giving these young forwards a chance but with Parsons needing to take the next step in his career and him easily being our best goalie prospect the Flames might be in the mood to trade one.

I always circle back to the wild and Nino on this one. I believe the wild are short on goalie prospects, and I'm sure there not in any hurry to give him away. Not saying that's the trade but it sure is starting to look like we might need to let a goalie go and I believe that Gillies would warrant a first on his own.

An unproven backup named Martin Jones. IIRC

Lumping everyone together is getting pretty old. I remember when you were an edgy troll.
