A bad Red Wings team is bad for the NHL at large. Time for KH to be bumped up stairs with a new title but little to no say in drafting or negotiating of contracts. |

team was chop liver when kenny refused to move aside to have Yzerman be the GM. now Kenny is going try try to make the playoffs so its going to be another situation where the team is going to be just good enough not to get one of the top players in next years draft (Dahlin/Svech.) |

Daley is not that bad of a signing, a Swiss Army knife d-man who can bounce into any role they need and do a more than adequate job, not gonna win a cup for us but that ship sailed years ago thanks to managements inadequacies. And besides players like Daley always have value from the real contenders come March..... |

Great signing! Top4 D-man that's getting paid over a million less per season that Ericsson. |

I think Kenny is panicking again. I see signing Daly as insurance since Kronwall is about one fall away from retirement or if Ericsson is injured. Not sure how this will affect the pecking order for the prospects coming up from GR... we still have Oullet, Sproul and Russo trying to crack the lineup. We need some young and effective bodies on defense badly. I'm hoping DeKeyser can turn things around. Our defense has no sandpaper and is NOT hard to play against (excluding McEllrath since he's in GR).
What's up with the Witkoswki signing ??? A career AHL player with no offensive upside. WTF ? Okay... I get he add some toughness this team needs, but I'd rather have more goals in the other team's net. Who does he replace ? Miller I'm guessing. Our 4th line is a joke. This seems like a Blashill decision since the guy played at WMU. |

At least I can buy a Griffins jersey with his name on it since he's from my grandma's family. Only upside to the signing. |
