According to Capfriendly.com we now have the lowest payroll in the league. And the fewest people on our roster. Crazy times.

First thing Kovy said was he wanted to talk to other teams so he's not likely to land here. Why leave the KHL for this tire fire if the reason is money. They'll supposedly pay him more there.

As for Shattenkirk, maybe we can be a player. Maybe not. The Rags don't often get outbid if they're really in, and he can certainly go to a number of teams.

What about Clowe, Ryane NMC LW, RW IR 34 $4,850,000, is that going to count against the cap? Will they release him? Still shows, otherwise, even more space available.

It counts against the cap this year but we can exceed the cap by his salary since he's on LTIR. But we won't have to worry about that. After this year we are FREE AT LAST... other then our idiotic decision to hire him as an assistant.

I might be wrong, but when season starts they go to LTIR and team can spend THAT amount over the cap. So it counts but it doesn't really count...lol if that makes sense.

The Devils could technically afford to pay each of the $7M and still have some cap room to round out the roster. The thought of doing that is both exciting and pretty scary. Two crazy flight risk Russians and a fake #1D man...

Could be a trade no one sees coming, definitely more than a severson extension below cap floor now.

Seabrook has a proven winning pedigree and leadership. Don't know who your C is, but he'd instantly take over that role. Age, but especially deal length definitely is a concern. Could be a fun weekend for you Devils fans.

Greene is the captain. Don't get me wrong, I like Seabrook, but that deal and age are BIG concerns. It depends on what the Devils are giving up for him. I wouldn't give Henrique up for him.
