please dont, you will make him look bad with charts and underlying stat lines, try to make it sound like he isnt an upgrade over any other pittsburgh player

then offer a low ball trade offer for pieces the Avs dont need.

Did I get your template blog that you do for any notable player right?

Somebody is using the Pens as leverage to squeeze out more from the interested team... no way this makes sense.

Honestly I'm not a huge fan of maatta straight up for duchene. Creates a big defensive hole for us I'm not sure how to fill. We can complain about maatta for many reasons but he's still a functional 2nd pairing defenseman. I've showered on his development some but at the same time he hasn't had issues that have set him back. If he works hard he should get better than he is now.....and a legit 2nd pairing dman still.

If duchene had a better contract i would Be more of a fan. This already takes from a weak spot of our team to cover a 3c.

Would prefer to deal hornqvist plus for duchene. I'd even prefer hornqvist plus sheary for duchene. Horn is a tdl asset for Colorado.....I'm guessing worth a 1st plus prospect.

So would really break down to sheary plus a couple months of horn plus a 1st plus sweetener.

Might not be a great return for Colorado but if we are really buying low it's the route I'd go.

Then we can boost wing depth with a smart ufa signing and have the 2 kids who are about ready.

Agree creates too big of hole on our defense. We either move maatta for another dman or keep him. We don't have the defensive depth to move maatta.

How about moving Hagelin and his contract. That's a big one for someone that didn't provide much value other than pk. But Ryan loves him some Hagelin so he would never suggest trading him.

Pens trying to get a cheaper Boner by looking at this, although saying that the possibility was listed as low.

I can't see this happening.

They just won back to back cups with Bonino...and all you can talk about is not bringing him back? Why would you give up so many assets, when I would much rather just give Bonino 4-4.5 mil and call it. Is MD going to be on the PP? Is he going to kill penalties? If not, then why give all that up for a 3rd line guy?

I apologize for saying I'd never read your dumb-ass blogs again but it must be something like acquiring a taste for gin martini's because here I am reading one of your blogs again.

I was wondering if you ever choked on predicting via your charts how bad the Penguins were while they won their second cup in a row. Being a Capitals fan, we really do have the right to construct brain cramped blogs, crazy ass trades and charts reflecting how stupid Ted Leonsis, Richard Patrick, our GM and coach are.. seriously, what is your excuse for being so frightfully wrong about things? You have objections with almost everything Pittsburgh Penguins... yet they've won back-to-back Stanley Cups.

The Penguins have proven they are one of the best run, leading edge, teams in the league and most other franchises and fans are jealous of their successes... yet you remain a RAG... constantly posting about how bad players are and management is. Quite frankly, (and feel free to chart this) the word RAG fits you better than any other I can think of right now.

I'll give you an atta-boy for effort, however.

oh wow a winger who plays with 2 of the best Centers in this generation on a strong possession team has a better Hero chart of a center who plays on one of the worst possession teams.

You better hope Sakic didn't watch Matta play during the playoffs, otherwise Pens won't get more than a slice a of apple pie for him.
Pens have nothing that could interrest COL imo.

The Avs will certainly find a better deal than that. Ollie has games where he looks like he's coming around, and then he has games where he looks like the burnt crumbs at the bottom of my toaster. JR would drive OM to Colorado himself if he could get a strait up deal.

Sprong with Maata in a trade for Duchene.... no thank you.

I think the Pens need to retool a bit for their run at a third but we dont need to lose our top prospect who very well could be NHL ready. Having Guentzel and Sprong on affordable deals allow the pens to upgrade at all the other positions in the next few years.

Sprong would be untouchable IMO. If Ruth is looking for significant deal, I'd much rather him try to find a true #2 dman. Duchene would be a luxury.

Any interest in signing Yak to a show me and playing him with Gino?
