Girardi would be fine as a 3rd pair D-man on the cheap. He just can't okay 17-20 minutes a night anymore. - tomburton99

Glad to see I wasn't the only one mystified with all the Hainsey love in the playoffs. He was a good story and glad he got a deep playoff run, but he looked slow, not particularly physical, not particularly offensive. He should be being looked at as a 6 or 7 by someone with injury problems already (Edmonton) or sure to have them (Pitt). |

Am I crazy or do I remember Tanner singing Alzner's praises throughout this past year?
I agree though that team's should avoid him. He's gonna get paid $5 million when he should realistically be getting $3 million. |

Is it just me or is (almost) every d-man in the league completely terrible and not fit to be even on the 3rd pairing? Or so it would seem pundits and fanboys would like us to believe.
Having said that, the Penguins somehow managed to win the Cup with a bunch of defencemen who (apparently) couldn't even hack it in an industrial beer league. |

Come on now, that's only because the league wanted the Pens to win, so that argument is void lol |

Pretty sure you're thinking of someone else, he was praising Schmidt, Orlov, Niskanen, and Shatty all year, not sure he said anything, good or bad, about Alzner. |

I know. I was gonna say he needs to play like 12 minutes a night. Missed a word in my original statement. Whatever. |
