Doesn't matter if you think Russell is a good player or not. This is a terrible deal. Oil traded Eberle because of the cap space implications and they turned around and signed a player who is going to be a bigger cap issue within a year.

I didn't hate the Eberle deal so much because I figured it was to open space for Driasaitl, McDavid extensions plus Pulju is in the pipeline. But I'm going to have to agree with Iggy when he blows his stack on this one.

Hendo watches but also is busy looking at the advanced stats pages while the game is on. Hendo thinks he's multitasking but he isn't, he isn't.

Burning valuable cap space as a result of poor planning and seemingly not having a back-up plan. Running a lot of risk here where the reward is at most status quo. I couldn't stomached the deal at 2 years and tolerated it at 3 years (the timeline for Jones and Bear to finish their ELCs), but 4 years is too much- especially at 4mil.

I guess such is the cost when the coach loves a player.
