95% chance it's an American kid that's really fast.

RHD or Center obviously would be nice

A lot of rumblings today that CHI and ARIZ are working on a deal that would allow the Blackhawks to move up to number 7 in the draft

7x7 and some type of crippling NMC\NTC. Sounds like the perfect NYR contract.

I think what we have to fear is missing out on the trade to get that stud D they need and are forced to do Shatty contract. That's why i just wish they'd trade Miller and get a bonafide guy.

I don't even know anything about him. I just know you want him and I don't want the Islanders to get him.

They're not going to get him unless he falls into the late 20's and they trade up. The only knock on him is literally that he is 5'10''. He's awesome and GM's are so stupid caring about his height, which isn't even that small.

If they could pry Trouba away from Winnipeg, what would it take besides Miller and a 1st round pick of some kind?

I know its great we are getting our first round pick since 2012 however I would have thought a trade to Vegas with Girardi and a first round pick would have saved us a 2 3 million in cap hit from buying him out and we would still have Lindberg! Plus you could have used the first round pick to work on Trouba Dumba or Larsson. Make a big splash with Stepan with a first round pick in this weak draft!!!

(This is in reply to "JRR1285", since the reply function was not working.)
Trouba and backup goalie, Michael Hutchinson for Miller, the first rounder, and...Raanta...is what it would likely take.
The risk is more on the Rangers end in giving up Miller & the 1st Rounder, while Hutchinson and Raanta (at $150K less than Hutchinson), will be UFA's next summer, in addition to Trouba being on the second and last year of his bridge deal he signed to remain in Winnipeg last season, with word there that he may want out for good this time. So Trouba will be due a lot more than $2.8M this time around for him to choose his own option, as Shatty will also be doing very soon somewhere.

Team already lost Lindberg and now you are advocating dealing Miller? Who replaces their offense? FA Market is weak, so now another forward would be needed. Move makes some sense, though not a big Hutchinson, but with Allaire, maybe he unlocks something.

But gives them a younger d-man by five years locked up. Murphy still has to grow a lot, as Hjalmarsson is much better at this moment.
