Botterill may be of the mind to trade Kane to a team who has a veteran proven goal scorer to Sens back ton Buffalo. James Neal (Vegas), Matt Duchene (Colorado), and Charlie Coyle (Minnesota) fit that bill to a tee
How is Charlie Coyle a Veteran Goal Scorer? He has 70 goals in 5 seasons, an average of 14 a year. |

Why even have a draft? Let's just let everyone sign where they want if they can after a few years anyways with zero compensation for the team drafting them. Team signing guys like Peterson should be forced to give up comparable picks, no worse than their draft slot. Wouldn't help much in this case, but higher picks it would. |

He should have to go back in the draft and Buffalo should get a compensation pick for not being able to sign him.

my how your tune has changed with the ND goalie |

So you're saying we can't afford to pay a 25-year old, pending free agent, 30-goal scorer $6 mill plus, but instead should trade for a 26-year old, two years from free agency, and a guy who will command much more than $6 mill a year (as he is currently making that already) and much more than just Kane in exchange. Or...a 29 year old, pending free agent, who's best days are behind him but will still ask for a contract similar to what Kane would get? Makes no sense. Seems like we're just trading for the same guy and same money issues. |

And buffalo should be able to score well enough, but getting a top 4 dman and a bottom 6 guy maybe should be the priority? |

Its no wonder Petersen decides to test free agency, after reading Garf's hack job lecture
If Garf lectured me like that I'd give Garf the finger. Right, thanks for helping Gorf.
Sounds to me like Petersen wants to skip playing in the AHL and start his career in an NHL net. Buffalo is in no position to hand their starting goalie job to a 22 year old college kid. There are no shortcuts to the NHL.
Good luck finding an NHL club that will hand you the keys to the kingdom fresh out of university, Cal.
Correction, Cal. Once and for all, make up your mind. You want to be a pro? Then act like one. Make a decision and live with it.
You are 22 years old and just finished your three-year commitment to Notre Dame. Your .924 career save percentage and 2.30 GAA are impressive. Your 11 career shutouts are the bomb. However, who cares? |

I doubt Peterson is basing his decision on a Garth Blog. Its unfortunate but its his right to do what he's doing. Wherever he goes he will be in the AHL to Start. He may think that buffalo signs a Goalie and Ullmark stays in Rochester for 1 more year, and he doesn't want to be a back up in the AHL. |

Agree but Garth didn't seem to have a problem with Vesy playing the game to his advantage last year. Or at least until he finally signed with the Rangers.
Let's face it. Its a loop hole that needs to be fixed and it will be |

Quit your belly aching...youre just pissed that happened to Buffalo...against n.
The rule is in place to offer incentives to stay the college route. It's smart and encouraging to see this business put value in that. |
