Interesting choices, and I'm excited to see we'll likely be drafting with the bulk of our picks. That said, do you think we're done dealing/trading or signing? |

Thank you for the write up.
After reading lots of scouting reports, I'm hoping we end up with one of Glass (probably unrealistic), Suzuki, Necas, or Petersson. Strongly hoping to avoid Rasmussen, would prefer to also avoid Tippett, Tolvanen, and any left handed dman. |

So looks like the kings are going to a predicatable boring draft where everyone else is trying to be better and make unique trades. |

After the last few years of trading away our picks for 1 playoff win in 3 years? I'm ok with boring and predictable. |

They won't win jack with what they're proposing to ice at this stage of the off-season, though. Either sell and rebuild or get trading. Another 11+ pick next seaso isn't the answer. |

This is why I stopped paying much time or attention to scouting potential draft picks about 10 years ago. I used to really get into it, but it was probably the Hickey pick that made me realize that you can spend so much time evaluating and comparing the players only for the team to end up not picking any of them (by going off of the board, trading the pick or having someone fall). I don't think that this blog mentioned Vilardi even once as a potential pick, much less previewed him. That's kind of funny, but at least it's in a good way, since he's considered a steal, rather than being funny in a "what the..." way, like when Hickey was picked . |

Agree, but who is taking our garbage contracts that are weighing us down? Gotta move ahead with what we have, build the prospect pool, and see if an opportunity breaks to unload Brown and/or Gabi. |

I think Peng was only reviewing guys that were supposed to be in that pick range. TSN had this kid going #5. I haven't looked at what the other scouts had him at. But I do like the pick. |

Oh, I know. I wasn't suggesting that he should've previewed him. He did a very diligent and thorough job of all of the likely candidates. My point was that you can do that and still be surprised.
As for where other sites/agencies had Vilardi going, I saw one had him at #3, two had him at #4, one had him at #5 and one had him at #7. |

That's true, it's just they have find some way at getting creative with one of those contracts. Brown I'm okay with because he competes, it's the other guy that we need to part ways with.
I'll shut up now, though; we just picked up the second coming of Koitar in the draft. What highway robbery! |
