Seriously, can people stop acting like he died? Also, I mean, after some of those playoff losses Pens fans never wanted to see him again and trade chatter was non-stop. So it wasn't all roses with he and the fan base, so stop making it seem like it was an everlasting love affair.

Vegas hosed some eastern teams but a lot of the deals with western teams are total head scratchers. Was McPhee afraid to piss off GMs in his own conference? Kind of a cowardly way to start a team. Those Calgary and Vancouver picks are nearly pink slip worthy. Not taking Dumba and one of Vatanen or Manson was an awful decision. Draft picks are great but Vegas could have been a much better team out of the gate while still staying young with some cost certainty. I hope most Vegas fans don't know enough about hockey to realize that McPhee just dropped the ball on day one.

I hope he uses a good quality body wash, he is going to be washing off a lot of rubber with that line up.

Did the Isles really pay that much to get rid of Grabovsky's 1 year 5 mil?

His contract AND to not take one of their talented players left exposed. Still seems like an overpay but they were not in a position of strength.

The way it looks now he was only able to fleece Garth Snow.

It's part of their master plan to protect their assets so they can overpay for Duchene and/or Eberle.

Get ready to welcome Matt Duchene to Carolina. I expect they have a deal lined up to send one of their other D to Colorado. Outside chance it could be RNH from Edmonton.

All of that Schlemko, Methot, Emelin talk...

I'd still rather just sign Brendan Smith.

I didn't think they had any talented players left exposed. Laad must have a NMC

An overpay for Eberle sounds like a Garth Snow move for sure!

Will have to wait and see how things unfold from now until the end of the draft before judging the job they did.

Engelland was a PR move more than for winning now. He lives in Vegas and he can scrap with the best of them. Its the fight capital of the world so I'm sure the fans will like to see someone out there who can throw em.

Most importantly, they have a lot of asset capital and a lot of cap space. They can still wheel and deal for some legit top 6 talent.

I also love that they are trying to unite a KHL line in the NHL. They have Shipshayev and Gusev, now are in talks for Dadanov to complete probably the best line from the KHL last year. Would be fun to see how they do in NA.

DeHaan, Strome and Nelson. Looks to me they paid a 2nd to take the Grabovski contract and a 1st to keep from losing DeHaan.

Haven't seen the details yet, but it's reportedly done

EDIT: IT's Strome for Eberle. Not bad by Garth....

How about the Pens looking at Colin Miller? He played great in the AHL and seems to have some goal scoring ability. He is on a $1M contract and then becomes a RFA next year. He plays the RD side and looked like a good 5/6 D for Boston the last two years. Could give the Pens some cheap depth. Anyone know more about his speed and passing ability?

Not a bad deal by either club. Strome isn't younger and cheaper with the potential of being better than eberle. Eberle helps the islanders now though. OIlers also free up some cap space to make a run for a good free agent
